Watching the "burglary" at Weaver's last night and noticed something. When
Andy arrives on the scene and opens the back door, Barney crashes into the
big stack of boxes and Andy puts his hand over to the light switch which is
in the off (down) position. We hear the click and the lights flash on. Cut
to Barney then cut back to Andy who is still standing in the doorway with
the light switch still "off." Maybe they had a Clapper.

I thought everyone would enjoy reading this excerpt from our area
newspaper. I teach in Fall Creek which is a small town of about 1200.

Welcome to Mayberry I uh, Fall Creek

Village considers making police bigger part of community

   By Chuck Rupnow
     Leader-Telegram staff

FALL CREEK -- Village officials are
    considering a community-based policing
system that they say would resemble the
"Andy of Mayberry," or town marshal, style
      of government.

The system calls for officers to do regular services,
patrolling and investigating but also to be
    on duty while at home.

"It's kind of the Andy of Mayberry, for lack of a better
description," Chaney said, referring to the fictional
Sheriff Andy Taylor of Mayberry, N.C., on TV's "The Andy
       Griffith Show."

"It's kind of like the way policing used to be, with the
town marshal, but in a more modern sense," Chaney said.

Chaney said residents and police officers would interact
and develop a rapport that would benefit the village.

Police officers would be more visible in the community
because they would use their squad cars for personal
errands and police work and then take their cars home,
       Chaney said.

For my public speaking college
class, my assignment is a "persuasive speech".
I want to do it on how TAGS is the greatest
TV show of all time and to persuade the class
to watch it.

If anyone has any input for me on
"key elements" I should use,
the help would be most appreciative.

HOWDY! It has been some time since I posted anything. In fact, it has
been a while since I have been able to even read and keep up with the board.
That is because, like I had told y'all a few months back, we are putting on
a production of No Time For Sergeants, so I have been at play practice
nearly every night.
For those that may not remember, and to remind everyone else, the
Weakley County Community Arts Foundations, in conjunction with the Tennessee
Iris Festival, is presenting No Time For Sergeants this weekend. It will be
in Dresden, TN, at the old elemetary school. And, you will be proud to know,
a member of the wbmutbb is playing Andy's part of Will Stockdale (ME!). It
is a dream come true! But, anyhow, it is bound to be a wonderfully funny
show, as there is a bunch of very talented people in it. Anyone who lives in
West Tennessee, or South West Kentucky, wouldn't have to drive very far. I
already have heard from 1 couple from Mississippi who is coming!
Anyhow, I just thought y'all might want to know. If anyone is
interested in coming, and you need more info or directions, just email me.
Shows will be Friday night (the 27th) at 6:00 for a dinner theatre, and
Saturday night (the 28th) at 7:00 for the show only. Tickets are $20 for the
dinner theatre, and $10 for Saturday night. All proceeds benefit the
Community Arts Foundation.
I am not sure if it is "legal" to post such an advertisement on here,
but if it was some other town having it, I would have wanted to know, so I
thought I should pass on the news. If this has been an illegal post, please
forgive me.
Again, if you need more info, just email, and I'll help all I can!

Back on the truck!

Paul, are you talking about Eva Kryger appearing in that furniture polish
commercial Aunt Bee tried to do for Mr. Foster? I believe she was a
member of the TAGS crew in the same capacity. Aunt Bee of Orlando
