Hey everyone, I am not trying to stir up any trouble, but has there ever been talk of a letter writing campaign to TVLAND and Nick at Nite to ask them to stop cutting episodes. I would rather them show one episode (instead of two back to back) if they would show the entire episode. I would not mind if it took 40 minutes if that’s what it took to fit in all the commercials. My biggest gripe is when it comes to the marathons. Why cut scenes on a marathon? JUST SHOW FEWER EPISODES OVER THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME! So how do you fight fire? That vein in my neck started popping out last night when they cut the entire "build a little draw bridge . . .will you help us!?" scene from the episode where Opie finds $50. Anyway, let me get some feedback, any one have addresses? Has this been done before? In the "Mr. McBeevee episode, opie says he has a horse out back, and Barney seems happy and excited and runs out back shouting "Here Blackey!". So in one episode he hates horses and in one he loves horses... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 08:57:55 -0400 From: "Tony & Susan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: "Got Time for Music" Greetings to ye joined together in the thought of it... Haven't had the chance to write in a while, #1 momma been keepin me pretty busy. Had the joy and blessing of having cable go out so of course went direct like to the tapes and noticed what I call the "alternate" theme song...funny, guess I just wasn't "thainkin"...so I ask our resident gurus..whats the story? How many episodes did the "alternate" theme get used in and is there an explanation, or did the producers just have a compelsion to try something different.... Makes ya thaink.....now yall be good and act like somebody "next time I go huntin tigers I'm takin my tweezers" The not quite as fatman ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 08:22:57 -0500 From: "The Hendersons" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Andrew Jackson Taylor Boy, how times have changed! Boy, how being politically correct has changed things. Imagine! Andy could be named after a man as "famous" as Andrew Jackson and people were not offended and Andy was not ashamed.! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 08:59:31 -0700 From: "Scott Gamel" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: wbmutbb-digest V3 #129 > I asked him why Andy doesn't visit there. > He said that Andy got pulled over by the cops > for speeding, the cop didn't care that it > was "Andy" and gave him a speeding ticket. > Andy got real mad and said He'd never come there > again. My buddy told me it was big "local" news > when it happened. I think the cop should have learned > the lesson that " You do better not going by the book, > but by the heart ." Speaking as the son, brother, and first cousin of career law enforcement officers, (and who works in a support role to law enforcement) it seems to me Andy should have remembered the time Barney put a ticket on the Governor's car and stood his ground. It would be very un-Mayberry like to try to get out of a justified citation because of "who you are". To do so would put you in with the woman speeder and the spoiled rich kid played by Bill Bixby. Actually I suspect this is one of those unprovable (and probably untrue) stories that seem to crop up about celebrities. I don't know the answer you're looking for, but Thelma Lou's cousin Mary Grace's last name is never revealed (I don't think) and that is the actresses real first name. Just thought I'd throw that in. Mike K. from WV >> In "Barney on the Rebound," Barney states that he may go into private detective work someday, and adds that he's even thought of the FBI. One of these days, he's gonna give ol' J. Well, the governor didn't get mad when Barney gave him a ticket! Maybe Ange should've made a visit to the office to shake his hand!
