Hey You All,

Allan or someone can you tell me how Russell Hiatt of Floyds Barber Shop is
coming along after his stroke. I was shocked to hear he was ill.

I go to Mt. Airy quite often and always stop by to see how Russell is. Of
course I do Snappy Lunch while Im there.

I would appreciate some info on him. Thanks.

Just wanted to add some thoughts to this GREAT digest!!!

First, responding to the FAVORITE LINES ones, I love the "Loaded Goat"
episode when Andy and Barney realize that the goat was full of dynamite and
Barney is comtemplating what that means -- he hears a blast in the distance
and exclaims, "There she blows!" I love that. I also love the Jubal Foster
episode when Barney finds the "evidence accidentally" and starts saying:
"Jubal! Jubal, Jubal, Jubal!" It's hilarious because Don Knotts played a
drunk rather well - like in the episode when the Governor was coming to
shake his hand and Barney says, "Bless his heart."

As for inconsistencies, how about when Barney was reciting the Preamble to
the Constitution - the close up shot, his hair is messed up, the shot with
him and Andy his hair is slicked back, then the close up with his hair
messed up and then the panned shot with the slick hair. This happened a few
times!!

Thanks all, and keep up the good work!

Favorite Lines........................

"Thought about killin' him, kinda hated to hafta' go that far"
"I got a hobby, Drinkin"
"Call the MAN"
"Yep, that's what I'm gonna do."

"Otis Campbell from the Andy Griffith show is our leader" Not a line from
the show, but a line from a song by Mojo Nixon.

>>>First, this one is for Paul, the episodes you said had their copyright
expire, are they still that way? Are they "Free Game" if you will for
reproduction, or did another company pick up the rights?
>>>

I'm not sure what the current status is, but it seems like every time I go
into a large video store, there are some new budget-priced VHS tapes of TAGS
episodes from some company nobody has ever heard of, and sure enough, they
always have the same episodes. I've seen tapes and DVDs made by GoodTimes,
Diamond Entertainment, and Laserlight, to name a few. The episodes are
always in the #80 - #100 range.

By FAR the best TAGS video cassettes available are the ones from Columbia
House (www.columbiahouse.com). So far, they have made 10 four-episode
tapes. About three months ago they promised that number 11 would be
available soon, but so far I haven't received it yet.

Our cause got a dose of publicity awhile back. I picked up a copy of the
Jan/Feb issue of Reminisce magazine at the hairdresser's the other day
and who should be on the "Show Us Your Car" page but Ron Parker, the
sheriff of VanBuren County, Iowa who has a 1960 Mayberry squad car
replica; it's emblem reads "Aunt Bee's Express." He's a huge TAGS fan and
proudly drives his car in local parades and such. I don't find him in
our member lists so maybe he's not even aware of our existence. I sure
enjoyed seeing his photo!!

My all-time favorite single sentences:

1- WE DEFY THE MAFIA !
2- Get under there with them Spiders!
3- I've come to fill my vase.
4- "Barney, Why DO YOU wanna go to the duck pond"
5- JUDY JUDY JUDY JUDY JUDY

also-

I picked up Don Knott's book, the new one,
It's a great read. One thing bothered me though.
He left "Danny" on an island? Sad.

Also- I made an A+ on my TAGS Speech for my
public speaking college class. Thank you all for your
input. I really appreciated it. It definitely proves
that Mayberry will live forever, in our hearts,
the TRUE MAYBERRY CITIZENS.

Hidee!

I'm not nearly the trained noticer some of you are, but I did notice some
things tonight in "Barney Fife, Realtor":

1. The actress who played Mrs. Sims also played Miss Rosemary
2. The actor playing Mr. Sims also played the clerk who sold Andy the 2
dozen preserve jars for Aunt Bee's birthday in "The Bed Jacket"
3. I also noticed the round window that we've seen in Miss Crump's
classroom and the second floor of the Mayberry Hotel was in the Williams'
house that Andy and Aunt Bee consider buying.

Was I right?

Also, in checking the TVLand schedule, I see that they're having a sort of
"mini-marathon" of TAGS on Wednesday (5/16). Here are the episodes and
times (all times are Eastern):

11:00 am--"Opie's Ill-Gotten Gain"
11:30 am--"Aunt Bee the Crusader"
12:00 pm--"Hot Rod Otis"
12:30 pm--"The Rumor"
1:00 pm--"Family Visit"
1:30 pm--"Aunt Bee's Romance"
2:00 and 7:00 pm--"Goober and the Art of Love"
2:30 and 7:30 pm--"Barney Runs for Sheriff"

They still have not posted the time they're going to run the debut episode
of "Mayberry, RFD" on Wednesday evening (in which "H" and "A" get
married)--I'll check back tomorrow and if they've set the time, I'll tell
Sarah to let you all know.

Hey to Gomer!

Subject: SELLING EPISODES

THIS IS FOR TIM SMITH. I LOST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.
ALL THIS COMPUTER STUFF IS NEW TO ME. YOU ASKED IF I
WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SELLING SOME OF MY TAGS
EPISODES. I RECORDED ALL MY 249 EPISODES FROM TVLAND
AND I'M NOT SURE IF IT WOULD BE LEGAL FOR ME TO SELL
ANY OF THEM. IT MIGHT BE OK TO RECORD THEM FOR YOU IF
YOU SUPPLIED THE BLANK VIDEO TAPES AND THE POSTAGE AND
HANDLING FEES. BUT I'M NOT SURE IF YOU WOULD BE
WILLING TO DO THIS! WHICH EPISODES DO YOU NEED?
