Was really shocked to see that the husband of the woman who left the baby was played by Jack Nicholson. Was this his start in movies or what? he was "on" a whole two minutes or so and only had about two or three lines to speak. Also, another question that's been bugging me for a long time, whatever happened to Andy's wife? Did they ever say in the show? Thanks, and ya'll come back now, y'hear ? While watching the news about his visit, the first thing that popped into my head was that I hoped that no one ticketed the governor's car for a parking violation. Now that would have been funny! Frisco Darling to Aunt Bee when offered more food.."Ohh , no thank ya maaam! Ive reached my High Water mark." And I LOVED that episode where Aunt Bee gets "gassed" by drinking too much of the Colonels Elixir. Especially where the Colonel sent smoke signals to Opie with his cigar. What a fantastic TV Show!!! That brings me to another point. How good would TAGS have been on the radio?I guess the many silent scenes that have recently been discussed might lose a little (heh heh),but I figure it would have been just about as funny, anyway.Just imagine how intriguing it would be be to try to put a face with Gomer's voice. It would be fascinating to see if the writers could have created the same warmth in the Andy & Barney friendship without benefit of the physical comedy, too. Do you realize that Opie had Miss Crump for a teach for all the years he went to school except for the first grade? >>> Actually, Miss Crump didn't become Opie's teacher until the middle of his third grade year (the episode was "Andy Discovers America;" she replaced Miss Warner). He had Miss Johnson in first grade ("Alcohol and Old Lace") and Miss Cox in second grade ("The Bookie Barber.") For them that don't know, the title "Andy Discovers America" was more-or-less borrowed from one of Andy's early comedy routines about Christoper Columbus (aka "Crazy Chrissie.") >>> Of course, the Mayberry Town Band was so goooooooooood, that perhaps the high school band was afraid they would not be as good. >>> It's true that we never see the high school band, but we do hear musicians in "The Senior Play." They were presumably high school students, and they sounded VERY professional, much better than any high school band I've ever heard (and they even have a HARPSICHORD!) Those of you who assumed that the dancers were using recorded music are mistaken. How do I know? When the principal yells at them to "STOP IT!" the instruments don't all stop precisely at the same time. - --Paul ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Jun 2001 20:13:02 -0700 (PDT) From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: TV Land Marathon Does anyone know what time the first one will be shown Pacific time?
