Hello to all -
I will be resuming the TGAS Bible study in August, but I do not have all of
the 24 unedited episodes called for at Joey Fann's barneyfife.com site. I was
wondering if any of you good Mayberry fans could help me out. Please email me
if you have most if not all of the episodes listed there and would be willing
to tape them for me. I would be glad to pay you for your trouble.
Thanks - Dane Hawk

Dear WBMUTBB,
Recently, my wife and I were scanning the channels one night, when Andy was
not on, and we came upon an episode of "The Golden Girls" and we stopped for a
moment when we recognized a friendly and familiar face. It was Ellie! Of
course she was some years older but it was her much to our delight. She had not
changed much and the years had been very kind to her. Seeing her actions and
facial expressions on this episode brought us back through the time machine to
Mayberry. Always nice to see our cast members wherever on the satellite!
Thanks, and remember all God's children got a uvula; one of our all time
favorites!

>>>Which came first: Tuscaroara or Beverly Hillbillies?
I hope Harvey will correct me if I'm wrong, but if memory serves (and it
usually does), "Tuscarora" is the name of a mountain near Binghamton NY, the
hometown of Harvey Bullock, who wrote the episode in question. So,
Tuscarora is obviously much older than The Beverly Hillbillies.
If what you're really asking is "did the episode 'Opie's Hobo Friend' air
before or after the premiere of 'The Beverly Hillbillies'," then the answer
is before. I've often wondered if it is a mere coincidence that the very
next TAGS episode (Crime-Free Mayberry) was written by Paul Henning, creator
of The Beverly Hillbillies. My theory is that Paul Henning was looking for
the perfect actor to play Jed Clampett, and that he met Buddy Ebsen for the
first time on the set of TAGS.

I'm a Maint. Mechanic, and the P.M.( Lube)guy, at work calls me Gome.
Naturally, I call him Goober! The funny thing is, he has no idea what a TAGS
fan I am. I never figured out, which was a Mechanic first! One day Gomer is
pumping gas( Wally does the fixin), the next thing you know, Gome's fixin
cars in Andy's driveway!!

I think you can be a "Jr.," with just one name the same. But, you haf to
have the same entire name to be a "II." Anyhow, that's how I see it!

The best 2 to show someone unfamiliar with TAGS are
#1) The New Housekeeper, and #77) Man in a Hurry.
Actually any of the shows in B&W will suffice. By the
way, does anyone know when the B&W shows will begin
again on TVLand? It's been kind of refreshing not
watching so much tv lately, getting out and doing more
chores, but I kind of miss that hour at night of Andy.
Please post when episode #1 rolls around again. This
bulletin board has been a source of strength during
these days of near economic recession, Congressmen's
scandals, and colorized TAGS/RFD reruns. Thanks so
much for brightening each day. When "The New
Housekeeper" returns, that will be a true "Return to
Mayberry", with no Howard or Emmitt.....ahhhhhhh.
Rance-id Howard

Re: Opie the rock star
Last night they had the episode where Opie joins a teen rock band and starts
spewing groovy lingo, and Clara ended up being their manager. It featured a
young Kay Lenz who went on to act in other things. It was so funny.

I am going (or should I say am fixin') to move to
Dyess, AFB. Looking to meet fun fans of the Andy
Griffith Show. I currently can only watch on Nick at
Night. I prefer to watch older shows in Black and
white. Any big hair Texas ladies that watch Andy feel
free to e-mail me and we can go to Poncho's for
dinner. I haven't raised the food flag since I left
FT. Worth,,,, ... Dave

Paul, I do have the complete set on DVD in their entirety. But as you
said, they are not available commercially. I wonder what they would
sell for on Ebay?
