Sorry, folks, AOL keeps acting up on me, that's why the incomplete emails...
Anyhow, on the subject of Barney's voice...There was once an episode in which
Barney teased Andy about his latest romantic interest by singing "Mary".
Barney was just kidding around and had a beautiful voice! Yet get him in
front of a crowd...hey I think I just figured it all out!

As far as I know the Hawthorne Village set is no longer available. I think I
am one of the fortunate ones who purchased every item they offerered, thanks
to my wonderful wife. We have it displayed all the time in our family room,
but will change the arrangement from time to time. We even add snow at
Christmas time, which I know is not true to Mayberry, but living in
Wisconsin, Christmas is not Christmas without snow. It is always a big topic
of discussion whenever we entertain. I have also taken it to my school where
I teach a mini class on TAGS each year. I have quite a few Mayberry
collectables, so my class is always a very popular one.

"Everybody on the truck" book ( GREAT book: am reading it now. (That
turkey-in-the-trailer
story is funny). --Can you please tell me where i can find this book? Sounds
like a must-have!
Also, what got me to notice Barney coming from that direction,(besides his
yelling), and knowing he was coming from the wrong way from town is,whenever
anybody comes to the filling station from town, they always come in from the
filling station`s left-hand side(if you were standing facing the road in
front of the filling station)-now, knowing ol` Barn as I do, as he was pretty
wound up when he left the jail, he would have made a bee-line straight down
to the filling-station, and not made any detours or got side-tracked-not when
he was on a case like that.
Miss Peevy, i loved your "poor Horatio" story-that is just two funny!(One of
my favorite episodes!)

Since getting on the digest I have enjoyed reading the little oddities that
people notice that are out of place on the show. One I noticed years ago and
again a few nights ago on TV land was in the episode with Goober and the
Taylor's at the car show. In the last scene at the gas station in the traffic
passing by there is a Coor's Beer truck. Since in the 60's Coors was not sold
in the eastern half of the U.S. I doubt that there would have been one of
their delivery trucks in Raleigh. Or could it be that they were in Raleigh,
California! Never really said, just said they were going to Raleigh!
Best of luck to you and yours!

I have unfortunately had the same experience. The one show EVERYONE waited
for was TAGS! It really was a shock. It helped me in my time of need. I'm
sure it was comforting for everyone. I can't think of any other TV show, with
police, that was even watched!

Thanks for being so neighborly about my offer to sell a set of Blue Willow
dishes which our chapter was recently given. I've had some responses -- a
few people interested in buying the whole set, and a few interested in just
a few pieces -- but no money has changed hands yet.
The set will not be sold elsewhere....this offer is only being made to
WBMUTBB members. If we don't get sold out now, I'll probably re-offer
what's left a year from now.
Email me for prices and what's available -- don't correspond thru the Digest.
