Like the "Man in a Hurry"episode, but remember the very first episode that the Darlings were in town? That breaks me up every time that "jug playin'" would start and stop when they knocked on the door. The Christmas story was a good choice for the impression of Mayberry. But,then I'd probably say that about every episode.........Love them all....... This doesn't surprise me. I'll bet they drool over the dinner baskets Aunt Bee puts together for the prisoners! And how about the homey, comfy cells, complete with doilies, curtains and fresh cut flowers! A few years back, I did some volunteering at a homeless shelter and folks would always break for lunch and watch TAGS on an old beat-up TV in the back room. They commented on how nobody went homeless in Mayberry, not even a drifter or a con-artist handyman. Perfect strangers were taken in, fed and bedded with real honest hospitality. Kinda sad that we can't safely do that sort of thing today, isn't it? ~the groovy misspoovey~ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jul 2001 23:26:53 -0400 (EDT) From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Kim) Subject: Survey Survey Answers: 1. (Yes, I was watching "Welcome Back, Kotter" instead of TAGS on Sunday evening.) He played Mrs. Kotter's father from Nebraska in the episode where she has twins and has just brought them home from the hospital. I only need the last 7 of the color TAGS episodes which are showing this week and I will have a complete set! Of course, they are the TV Land edited versions. I would like to find unedited TAGS episodes on DVD. If I can't, I guess I will start ordering the tapes from Columbia House. The only time I can remember seeing someone was in a very unlikely place - a truck stop in Purcell Oklahoma, population approx. 5000 people. There were three of us sitting in a booth one night and in the booth across from us was Eb from Green Acres AND one of the guys with us knew him. As it turned out, several years before he became Eb he was a Biology teacher in Purcell and the guy with us had him in a class.
