I am ashamed to say that while I have been a TAGS fan all my life, I guess I cannot call myself a "true" TAGS fan due to my long running bigotry against the color episodes. However, now that I'm finally sitting down and watching some of them for the first time, I'm finding out how much I've been missing over the years! Thanks to this digest for getting me interested in ALL the episodes! I made an observation last night while watching "The Wedding". Paul Hartman (a.k.a. Emmett Clark) can really cut a rug! Of course, I was more than a little happy to hear they extended the offerings. I sent a message to customer service via their website asking how to "re-up" at the point where I left off. I got a reply saying that since my account was over six months old, they'd cancelled it and I'd have to sign on as a new subscriber. They gave me a number to call to do that. No problem (I thought). I called the number and it was a totally automated kinda thing without the choice I needed. However, it did give me another number to call. So I called and finally talked to a real person. I exlained what I wanted to do and was told I'd have to resubscribe, but they'd start sending first tapes first. I tried to explain again that I already had those, I wanted to start at tape number 11. (We went through this several times.) She said they couldn't do that. I asked who else I could talk to and was told customer service. OK, can I get the number for that? Well, they don't have a number. What???? Oh, I'd have to leave a message via their website. Of course, I told her that's where I started. I think somebody needs to go back to Bradbury Business College to learn how to deal with customers. I tell ya, I was as frustrated by that phone conversation as Mr. Tucker was with the Mendlebright sisters. I know some of you have sucessfully done what I'm trying to do. So, what should I do? Pilot and he fixed up the house as his "bachelor pad" was a hoot! I had never seen this particular episode and have to admit that I have never been a big fan of the color episodes. However, since TV Land has been showing the color eps lately, I have found that there are a lot of them that are really funny. The song that begins with the words, "We shall meet, but we shall miss him" is a favorite of mine also, and also showed that Barney (Don Knotts) had a good voice and harmonized well. Those of you have logged on recently know that I grew up in Mount Airy, NC at the same time Andy Griffith did, went to the same schools, and had many of the same experiences. One of the things Andy and I share is the importance of "The Golden Book of Songs." It was the required song book for all of us at "Rockford Street Grammar School" (the school auditorium has now been transformed into "The Andy Griffith Playhouse.") The music teacher, Ms. Coleman, did her best to teach all of us at least the rudiments of singing simple harmony. One of the songs in the book that provided that opportunity was the Civil War song, "The Vacant Chair," the first verse of which begins, "We shall meet but we shall miss him."
