Hey Everybody,

I would like to see the new episode with Sarah and Floyd each other. If
you don't want anybody to know anything, then don't tell Floyd or Sarah.
I believe between the two of them that they could write one doozy of a
gossip column. You know there have really been some big stories come out
of Floyd's barbershop and of course a switchboard operator. I think that
would have been alot of fun and laughs putting those two together.

Subject: Re: Who'd you like to see?

I think the Juanita and Sarah characters are best left
to our imagination. Would kind of spoil the mystique
to actually see them.

I would like to see follow up stories on whatever
happened to some of the folks who came through town;
Like all the girls Andy dated, specially Ellie, and
see how well Helen would handle their return, the
klepto-menarac, Mr. Frisbee, the moonshinin' Morrison
sisters Malcolm Tucker, and the newspaper man who
tried to burn Andy, Johnny Paul Jason, Tex, Don
Rickles' character Newton Monroe, Barney's cousin
Virgil could have made for another show or 2, Luke
Comstock, more episodes of Rafe Hollister, Ben Weaver,
more stories of Opie's girlfriends, like Sharon Porter
& Mary Wiggins, the young bullies and brats who came
to town, Fred Scobie, Ed & Jenny Boone, Mr. McBeevee,
definitely more Leon and Fred Goss, Barney's judo
teacher, all the Alan Melvin characters, Aunt Bee's
several suitors, the movie producer who came to film
the town, the first doctor who came to town, Buddy
Ebsens' hobo character, the Stranger in town, more Jim
Lindsay & Freddie/Bobby Fleet, the return of Ellie's
Uncle as the druggist, the Wakefields and Carters, and
of couse more Malcolm Merriweather & maybe his family,
the guy who tried to steal the onry old bull, The
Darlings and Ernest T., the Fun Girls, the escaped
convicts (after rehabilitation, of course), all those
dogs, Henry the Jinx, Elinora Poultice.... What about
the visiting preacher, What's your hurry? (Dr. Bream?
from NYC) The list is endless. Otis' first trip to
AA would be classic! Otis could have been in so many
more stories.

One question about the continuity of the show. In
"Return to Mayberry", Goober & Gomer own a service
station (Wally's?) Gomer's hair is rather long, so I
doubt he was in the Marine Reserves, so was he
honorably discharged from the Corps? And why was he
promoted to Lance Corporal 15 years later?

I just found an old LP in a record store called "Ken Berry RFD". Does
anyone know anything about this record or have a copy? When was it
issued? I looked in a record guide and it ain't listed. It's become an
interesting item in my Mayberry collection. Mine was marked for discount
, and has never been open, so I guess a few are out there.

I'd like to see Mr. & Mrs. Otis Campbell featured. I'm sure Mrs. has been
on, but not as the subject of the episode.

Sarah would be another one I'd like to know more about. Bet she could tell
us a lot about our Mayberry friends! And then bless their hearts... :0)

mentioned in so many instances I felt like we all knew her and her mother
who fell down at the bowling alley! Loved this query Brian!!

Was listening to some old time radio shows this weekend and heard Floyd
playing an informant on
a "Richard Diamond, Private Detective" episode. I have been used to hearing
him on the Gunsmoke radio show but that
was the first time I had caught him on a detective show. Floyd was going by
the name of Rabbit and hanging out in
a dive as well, lol.

I think Sarah or Juanita would be fun, but I'd like to see Leonard Blush -
the smooth-voiced crooner on the radio that Mrs. Poultice gave voice lessons
to.

IN RESPONSE TO THE INQUIRY ABOUT HOW GOMER PYLE, USMC, WAS VIEWED

BY MARINES.....WHEN THE PROGRAM STARTED IT HAD THE FULL BACKING
OF THE

USMC AND HAD A NUMBER OF TECHNICAL ADVISORS ATTACHED TO IT DURING

THE ENTIRE PRODUCTION RUN.....

THE MARINE CORPS APPRECIATED THE PUBLICITY AND OFFERED ANY HELP THEY

COULD PROVIDE, WHICH WAS OFTEN TAKEN UP IN LARGE CROWD SCENES, AND

OF COURSE, IN THE TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE OPENING CREDITS.....

LATER ON, IT WAS PERCEIVED THAT THE STORY LINES HAD PRETTY WELL RUN

THEIR COURSE AND THE MARINE CORPS WERE NOT AS HAPPY AS AT THE VERY

BEGINNING.....THEY ASKED FOR CHANGES TO BE MADE BUT THESE NEVER TOOK

PLACE.....THEN THE PROGRAM ENDED WITHIN A YEAR AFTER THIS.....

MOST INDIVIDUAL MARINES, HOWEVER, WERE NOT TAKEN BY THE PROGRAM AND

WERE NOT PLEASED TO BE REFERRED TO AS SERVING IN THE SAME
CORPS.....

ON THE OTHER HAND, JIM NABORS DID HIS BEST TO PROMOTE THE MARINES

IN EVERY PUBLIC APPEARANCE AND THE MARINE CORPS APPRECIATED THIS.....

In the episode where Gomer loses his job
and stays with the Taylor's. His ol'
customers come at night. There begins a
whole slew of noisy talking from the neighbors
complaining, and one of those is,
"I'm gonna call the POLICE !!!!"
Complaining to the Sherrif he's gonna
call the police.......just don't make sense?

But I wouldn't have it any other way........
