I really, really enjoyed hearing the epilogue tonight for the episode of the
"FBI men / turned bank robbers" being in town to praise Andy & Barney. I
don't remember seeing it before. I thought the song Barney made up was funny
and even funnier was Andy's.

I think Foley the grocer was sometimes (but not always) referred to by his
last name. Sometimes it was Mr Foley and sometimes it was just Foley.

That is an excellent question...and each time she appeared, they acted like
she had *never* done that before! What was up with that??

Here would have been an idea: in the oft-mentioned fantasy episode
explaining her to Opie, she could have popped up in a home movie or
something, like Radar's mom did on "M*A*S*H" or Frasier's and Niles' mother
did on "Frasier".

Subject: How many characters?

Hey everyone,

I have not posted in a long time, my wife and I just moved from Tennessee to
Syracuse, NY so we feel like we are somewhat out of "Andy" territory.

Anyway, I thought this might be a good question (I myself do not know the
answer) and it may have been asked before, but does anyone know what the max
number of main characters that ever appear in one episode?

I thought the one with Andy and Helen in the Jewlery store has alot at the
suprise party, or maybee the Mayberry goes Hollywood episode has alot of
characters. Anyone have an idea?

We all know how disappointed Barney was when he found out he wasn't kin of
Nathan Tibbs, even after all that begatten. Well, I may have discovered a
long lost relative of Barney's. While reading a biography on Martin Luther,
a name was mentioned of one of the early scholars who studied Martin Luther
and wrote about him. It was non other than a David Fife. So maybe all that
begatten years ago did spring off good old Barn. I think we should give him
a plaque.

On odd observation... Near the beginning of ep. 167 "Taylors In
Hollywood". Andy, Aunt Bee and Opie are riding in a bus going down
Sunset Blvd. As they look at area sites,.. the bus driver (passenger)
behind them,.. tells Aunt Bee about the "go go" place where the people
twist and jerk. A brief film clip shows what I believe is the famous
"WHISKY 'A GO GO". If you look closely,.. the big sign on the front is
missing the "Y",..and just says WHISK 'A GO GO,.. any ideas why the "Y"
is missing,..and why they would use a film clip with the wrong name?

I attended the Winnebago County Fair last night and
who did I see but David Browning in his Barney Fife
personna. It was nice to see a part of Mayberry here
in the northern part of Illinois. It sure made my day
and David did a fantastic job too.

I saw our dear old Aunt Bee playing the mother to Jerry Lewis on The Stooge.
She was quite funny, and was called upon to try and act a little like Jerry -
including his laugh. It's worth a look -- plus the movie is pretty good.

Dear TAGS friends
Why did the series recycle the same actors in different roles? A few come to
mind:

The man who played Mr Foley the butcher who stored Aunt Bees meat when her
freezer went on the Fritz. He was also on other shows as someone else.

The man who worked at the produce market who wanted to beat up Barney for
giving him a ticket for littering. He was also Ms Leshes wheel man in the
episode where Barney buys a car.(Sam the butcher in Brady Bunch)

The woman who later played Emmets wife.

Rafe Hollister: Didnt he played three roles?

Man in a hurry Mr Tucker was also the furniture polish man.

Anymore you folks can think of ? Im sure there are lots. Thanks and good luck
to you and yours.

Jim Lindsey
