This is in answer to Jennifer who asked if Sterling Holloway was the voice of
Winnie The Pooh. He sure was, and every time I watch that episode I can see
Pooh talking in my mind's eye. It's like Pooh visiting Mayberry!

I could be wrong about this, but have you ever noticed that a "b" sound is
often heard as a "v" sound over T.V. or radio? I know for years I thought
the owner of the Chicago White Socks was Bill Beck instead of Veck, because
that's what it sounded like to me when I heard his name on T.V. Just a
thought.

I was watching TAGS tonight where Fred Goss and Aunt
Bea were, I guess, spending time with each other.
Boy, Fred Goss was very open about his feelings
towards Aunt Bea. Being that I am 28 years old, I
never lived through the wonderful 60's when times were
so easy. I was wondering if anyone who lived through
the 60's could tell me if the men were really as
forward and open as Fred Goss?

>>>I know that Jack Prince was a featured vocalist on Johnny Carson's
pre-Tonight Show variety show that was on in the mid 50's, and I know he did
TAGS. Was he in any other movies or television that anyone is aware of?
Also, did he record any albums?

He never recorded under his own name, but he did sing (with Andy Griffith)
on the "Destry Rides Again" soundtrack LP. As far as I know that's the only
record he ever made.

I don't know where it came from but it does look like an Olympic event or a
football game. Kinda looks like the Coliseum in Los Angeles to me

I disagree. There was one episode, sorry, but I can't put my finger on it
right now, that Andy called her Ellie Mae Walker, and, no, it wasn't the
first episode she was in. I'll have to go back and watch my tapes to find
which one, but I saw it within the last couple of weeks and remember thinking
about the controversy we had when the "Ellie Mae Walker" volume came from
Columbia House.

Howdy Folks, been a long while since I posted so I'd like to welcome the new
folks to the bulletin board. I just had a sighting I thought I'd relay.
Probably been mentioned before, but I noticed that Hope Summers (Clara
Edwards) was on an episode of M*A*S*H*. She played Nurse Crady, an army
nurse who was helping the Korean orphans. Oh, by the way, Gomer says Hi!

See Y'all in the funny papers, Jim

Has anyone ever noticed the wonderful prices posted in
the windows of Mr. Foley's market? My husband and I
were watching the other day when Andy and Barney
walked down the street in front of Mr. Foley's store,
and they are great! My husband is in the grocery
business so he was able to help me out in a lot of my
comparing of today as opposed to then. For example
they advertised 5 lbs. of bacon for 99 cents, of
course today that would run you about $2.89 for 1 lb
in my area. It sure does make me sad to think about
all the groceries Aunt Bee lost when Barney ran over
her grocery bag on his motorcycle. Of course she was
jay-walking you know. Good thing he didn't catch poor
old Emma Watson on his cycle, she may have stuck her
umbrella in his wheel and caused him some real
problems. She sure did have spunk you know.

I was watching the episode where Opie rescues Mike,
Sam Jones son from a bully at school, and heard
something I don't ever remember hearing before. Aunt
Bee was commenting on Opie and the little girl Heather
who moved in next door, possibly getting married some
day. She mentioned the fact that there was some
furniture in the attic that belonged to Andy's mother
and father. Does anyone else remember them being
mentioned previously?
