Lucy's mother can be heard in most I Love Lucy episodes saying "Uh oh!"
followed by a little laugh. This laugh track can also be heard on many
including Andy, Gilligan's Island, Alice, and a few others.

I also got a kick again
out of the cow thief episode Friday night.

Was that not hysterical?? That's some of the best writing I have ever heard
on the show. First you have that bit about the "Big freeze," then Barney
gets his socks charmed off with the guy reminding him of his safety slogan.
("Walk on the left after dark or you'll be playing a harp!") But then
there's the classic bit about the moulage. One minute Barney says something
dumb like "We told a couple of people but we didnt' want to make a moulage
out of it," then the next minute he's the expert on moulages. Classic!

The description says "Here is a sealed in a mint only box" which makes no
sense, but it seems to indicate this is an empty box which has been
shrink-wrapped. With today's technology, something like this would be easy
to fake.

That's *exactly* what it is, a fake. The box has been auctioned before (yes,
it's empty) with the disclaimer that it's a fantasy work, no such model was
*ever* sold. Apparently this seller didn't make that clear to the people who
bid so much on it (boy are *they* going to be sore!).

You *can,* however, buy models of the early '60s Ford Galaxies and convert
them to Mayberry cars relatively easily. I am in the process of doing that
very thing...

squad car? As far as I know, none was ever produced, but here's one I saw
on eBay (by the time you read this, the auction will probably be over but
you can still take a look if you wish) I looked at the item Paul,..
looks legit to me. I think the seller probably just typed wrong,.. and
means the item is in mint condition in a sealed box. I looked at the
seller's "feedback",.. He has 410 positives and no negatives,.. so It's
unlikely that he would rip someone off on eBay. Pretty neat car...but
too many $$$ for me. Chuck (Bandwithabeat)

Fellow Mayberrians,
These are new models
they are only available to certain dealers,
you can't find them in most hobby shops.
I emailed one guy selling them on ebay and he told me
to send him $25 bucks and he would send one to me,
he also had Barney's motorcycle sidecar both these are new products

I know Mayberry is a "dry" county, but I was thinking over the weekend about
how "dry" it really was. In the all years the show was on the air, I can only
recall three instances of when it rained in Mayberry. Can you name the
episodes? If you can come up with more than three, you will win . . . my
utmost respect.

Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody ever does anything about it.
Did I just say that, or was it Calvin Coolidge?

When watching TAGS on TVLand, especially during the 7 p.m. ET hour, my wife
and I have been a bit troubled by the content of the commercials airing,
especially when we are trying to enjoy the show with our 5-year-old daughter.
We've seen everything from ads promoting psychics to spots from
pharmaceutical companies touting drugs for sexually transmitted diseases. It
is bad enough that I don't feel comfortable letting my daughter watch current
day TV (don't get me started about Fox and its promos for its lewd shows
during sporting events), but when there is something like TAGS still out
there for her to see and enjoy, I hate for it to be ruined by the ads TVLand
chooses to insert between the wholesomeness of Mayberry. How do you guys feel?

Yesterday afternoon, I popped in an old video of one of my favorite shows,The
Real McCoys. There in their neighbor George's (he was the old man with the
confederate bond in TAGS)
guest bedroom was that wonderful painting that we see in the Taylor's dining
room, isn't it called "Angelus"? Anyway, it is the one of the man and woman
in their field, with their heads bowed, giving thanks.
  Desilu,(who did TAGS) previously did The Real Mc Coys;
And that was in the late 50's. Funny how they kept some of the sets and props
a few more years and did TAGS with them.

I like to think about Lucy teaming up with Aunt Bee to manufacture
prize-winning pickles (or kerosene cucumbers, depending on your taste buds).
I'm thinking specifically about Lucy's stint at the chocolate company and
the out-of-control conveyor belt. Just substitute pickles for chocolates,
and the outcome could be hilarious!

Paul,
I seen that auction. I'm afraid someone's gonna
get a box and expect a squad car in it. Especially if
they're biddin' that much. I have seen a Mayberry
Squad Car model car kit. A hobby shop on the 'Net had
it for about 30-40 dollars. It was real good lookin'
too.
But I think what this person done was create a box
for the car, and there was one for the motorcyle.
They thought there was no such critter and decided to
make it as if there were. It would be like someone
sellin' a picture of a woman and sayin' "If they would
have shown Juanita, this is what she would look like."
Which I'd probably give a couple of bucks for a box
to put on my shelf to make it look like I had a
motorcycle kit, just to fool people. But I don't know
about $80. I had to read the sellers notes 2 or 3
times to get the full jist of his auction. I just
hope the bidders did too.

I've seen this guy's auctions before. He's not trying to
pull anything over, his auctions usually say it is a replica
of an "as if" kit that never happened. Strictly for display.
He had a version of barney's motor-sickle with side car box
also.

Not sure why he dropped the explanations. He had some other
TV Show kit boxes - cant remember, maybe a Mannix or
something else that was never made.

$90 approx for an empty box is more than I'd pay

Subject: WBMUTBB Christmas Exchange

Thanks to all you folks interested in
participatin' in it.
BIG is the only word to describe it.
A few things on it, for those asking
about it and missed my original post.
It is a gift exchange for the members
and family of the greatest chapter
of TAGSRWC. Names of members will be drawn
out of a hat, I'll make sure I don't draw
out the hat size, and they member drawn will send
to the other member. For example, drawn family
#1 and drawn family #2 will send each other a
Christmas gift, then #3 & #4, and so on.

The gifts should have the "Mayberry Spirit", and
don't have to be TAGS licensed products.
For example, one family could send another
a white bible (Ms. Bendle-mwright) or a box
of Mr Cookie bars, jar of homemade pickles, etc.
They shouldn't be pricy, money ain't the object,
CREATIVITY, FUN, and Christmas Spirit are.
But remember, sending homemade peach ice cream
isn't recommend. Try cashew fudge instead.

I need names and addresses for those interested.
The deadline has changed due to me not studying
the calendar right. (25 and 25 taptaptaptaptap...50!)
Deadline is November 21st. I will then draw and
match up and send emails to let everyone know.
This will also give the opportunity for the
"official" first day of Christmas shopping Nov 23rd.

I know I shouldn't have to say this,
but PLEASE, as citizens of Mayberry, we should
have the courtesy that if you send in your name,
and then change your mind. Please send email ASAP.
I'd hate for someone to mail something that took
alot of heart and effort, to not receive anything in
return. It definitely would be a Black Day in Mayberry
if that happened. It Raleigh would... I mean Really,
forget about what I said about Raleigh.
Only 106 days till Christmas.

I found a couple of interesting books with Mayberry info recently. One
came out last year and is titled "TV Towns"; the other in 1985, titled
"Cult TV" and features a letter from our own Jim Clark. Both are nice
volumes for the avid Mayberry collector.

Was watching the episode where the real & fake FBI guy
came to town looking for the stolen cash. The guy
goes up to Barney's room and gives him "knock out
drops". The room is the same one Barn was living in
when Mrs. Mendlebright threw him out for cooking. I
didn't see a hot plate, but there was an ice box,
where he kept the milk. Don't recall an icebox in the
cooking episode. Was this episode before or after the
Mrs. Bendlemright show? Didn't she say at the end of
that one that she'd let him have a hot plate and
higher wattage bulbs? Would love to have some of
those knock out drops for those occasional nights of
insomnia.
