Announcing the arrival of the newest TAGS member, a
beautiful 12-week old German Shorthaired Pointer. His
call name? You guessed it - Barney. Of course, I call
him Barney Parney Poo. And he is a bird in this world!

I'm lobbying for the registered name of Crosswind
Checkpoint Chickie (Crosswind being the kennel name).
What do you think?

Yes, but did you actually GET it? Until I see it with my own eyes, I won't
believe it. I'm convinced the guy on eBay is a phony who is out to defraud
unsuspecting collectors, and I believe I'll just go and tell him so (along

TAGS fans,

The model squad care on e-bay does not sound like a good deal as you
can get one from www.modelroundup.com for about half that price. Or, if
you can find a model of a 60s Ford Galaxie, Model Roundup will sell you a
light and detail kit to make it a Mayberry Squad car.

>>>... Today our teacher showed us a video as an intro to the Preamble of
the Declaration of Independence. What should come on but Andy and Barney!
The show where Barney claims to remember the beginning of The Declaration of
Independence.

That's a great idea for the classroom, but if your instructor told you that
the Preamble is part of the Declaration of Independence, then maybe s/he is
the one who needs to take a class in American History. Everybody knows it's
really the front part of the Emancipation Proclamation. ;-)

Too bad Barney never got the chance to watch Schoolhouse Rock as a boy. If
he had, he'd never forget the words to the Preamble.

Say it again. Mike from the shadow of Mt. Pilot.

In the episode about Sam Becker, Barney and Andy are watching Sam planting
at night and Barney says he could be planting marijuana.

I was watching the episode last night about "Gentleman Dan" and noticed a
little something. When they first brought him in he gave one of the
officers a cigar. Then when Barney goes out to get the mail, he ask
Gentleman Dan if he wanted anything while he was out. He said he could use
some cigars. Why would he need cigars if he already had some in his
pocket? Any ideas. Just curious

I can think of 3 rainy episodes, 2 of which had rain/thunderstorms as an
important component to the plot line:

"Quiet Sam" -- when Andy and Barney help Sam, the not-very-talkative farmer,
and his wife bring their baby into the world. It was a dark and stormy
night.

"Dogs Dogs Dogs" -- one of my all-time favorites. The stray dogs are out in
a field during a thunderstorm, which inspires Barney's classic "Boy,
giraffes are selfish" monologue.

The Gypsy episode, with Jamie Farr in a guest appearance -- gypsies arrive
in Mayberry, claiming to control the rain patterns.

Any others?

There was a huge rainstorm the night little Andy (Sam's boy) was born, but I
can't remember the other ones. Barney did wear a raincoat once when he was
trying to hide from a convict he thought was after him, but it wasn't raining!!

This is in reply to Amy (Golly Gee), about the movie "The Rat Race" My
husband and my self went to see this movie Sunday. We thought it was
halarious! I love Whoopy Goldburg... Reminds me of how some people can act
when they get greety, Is the world in a rat race anyway? But It was great, if
anybody is wondering about seeing it, go ahead, you will be glad you did.

I can think of 4 TAGS episodes where it rains. 1) Dogs, dogs, dogs, 2)
the one about the gypsies, 3) Quiet Sam, and 4) the one where the gold
truck is supposed to be going through Mayberry. Marijuana was mentioned
in the episode "Quiet Sam". Barney suggests that the reason Sam is
working in the fields late at night is because he is planting marijuana
or some other illegal crop. Mary Grace Gossage "That's the way the

Subject: The aftermath

As I, along with thousands of people sat around my T.V. today and watched the
horror of what happened in New York City, Washington D.C., and outside
Pittsburgh. As I watched hour after hour I found myself numb. "Enough" I
thought, I grabbed my remote and looked at the clock, T.V. Land was still
showing an episode of T.A.G.S. Just the few minutes in Mayberry seemed to
lessen the blow to my mind what had happened earlier today. There are
thousands of people in our country in disbelief today and for the days to
come. I find it somewhat comforting to know that for a small amount of time
one can escape.

Those Miss Cleo psychic commercials really get old.
I've often wondered, how can so many people call and
get through to the same person? Staggering. I have a
feeling they have thousands of people with fake
Caribbean accents answering the phone. Her accent is
so fake, it even sounds like she's Irish!

The positively worst commercial I've seen is the one
that they play over and over and over again on TVLand.
 It's those pre-packaged N'Sync wanna-be's known as
Dream Street. If I hear that song "It happens every
time" one more time, I think I'll scream. It's about
time for all the boy and girl band's 15 minutes of
fame to be over, and for them to fade into oblivion.
Bring back Jim Lindsey, Freddie Fleet & Keevie
Hazelton. Even Barney singing 14A is better.

Watched the show last night with a jealous Opie (over
Joanna Moore's character Peggy). I've always tried to
figure out what Andy said as they became blood
brothers during the "ceremony". He conured up the
names of Boojum Snarf, Drillan Trant, and Grovely
Barch. Where did he get those names?

Fellow Mayberrians,
This is the contact info for TV Land. If we get no response, or an
unacceptable response, the owner of Nickelodeon and it's affiliated networks
is Viacom, Inc.
Their website address with the contact info related to their corporation
follows
the Nickelodeon information. I suggest beginning any letter with great
appreciation of the great programming they have developed which has caused
them to have such a loyal viewership. Then let's let them know what loyal
