Sorry...that's netspeak for "rolling on floor, laughing." It's a variation
of LOL ("laughing out loud").

Maybe but people do like to butcher those European names (Is
she one of ours?) I have a friend whose last name is Dubois
and the family doesn't pronounce it DEW-Bwoi like Pearlimae
Dubois but Dew-BOYZ
What do you suppose causes that?

Hey everybody!
I don't know what happened or if I was the only one it
happened to, but I did not receive the digest for the
last few weeks. In fact I missed all of the comments
about Mayberry Days, and I was looking forward to
hearing all the things you all enjoyed about it.
If any of you have the time, pleas feel free to write
and tell me your experiences this year. I sure was
sorry to miss it.
Thanks,
Anita

One other way to connect them (and there may be many)...Jack Webb (Dragnet)

made it rain in Mayberry). Did I get that right?

Dear Sirs,
Please air the original 'un-cut' 24 1/2 minute episodes of The Andy Griffith
Show whenever possible. I understand the need to cut them for more ads, and
have appreciated the epilogues you have been showing that are usually cut.
You are providing a great service to fans of 'vintage' TV, and I do enjoy your
marathons, especially LUCY! Maybe you could show a marathon of TAGS uncut?
How about this- schedule an hour per episode, fit in all the commercials you
would usually air in an hour, add in the complete run time of the episode, and
use any time left over for trivia, interviews, promoting TV Land merchandise
related to TAGS?
example: 24.5 minutes (uncut episode)
+15.0 minutes (commercials estimate?)
+20.5 minutes (interviews/trivia)
_______________
60 minutes total
Of course, you would spread them out and show some of the episode, a
commercial, interview etc.
Whaddya think? I will stay tuned!
PS Let me know if you are going to air---
My Little Margie
Our Miss Brooks
The Millionaire
Hazel
THANKS!

My understanding was that when the new model Ford sedan came out each year,
the studio returned the old Mayberry squad car to the Ford Motor Company
(probably the Culver City dealer), who repainted it and sold it as a used
car. If the Melody Ranch story turns out to be true (and I hope it does),
then we'll know for sure where one of the 9* original squad cars went.

*TAGS ran for 8 seasons, but a Dodge squad car can be seen in a couple of
episodes of Gomer Pyle -- USMC and Mayberry RFD.

I haven't heard/seen such an ad, but the second pronunciation is correct
(weak accent on the BAH, strong accent on the AY).

Oh, I love the mosaic cow episode! It was hilarious! Otis did quite a job
with that poor old cow, I thought! If you haven't seen that episode, I highly
recommend it whether you like the color episodes or not. Making mosaic cows is
probably a far sight better than working at "THE ROCK" for rehabilitation!

In response to the question about Mayberrians and their many business
ventures: episode 209 Aunt Bee's Resturant - Aunt Bee opens a Chinese
resturant but then sells out to her partners nephew because of advice she
recieves in a fortune cookie and episode 231 Andy's Investment- Andy opens a
laundromat to earn extra money for Opies college education but soon finds
out that being sheriff and running a business are to much. He also sells out
but I dont remember to who. These are the only two other business ventures
I can remember.

ROFL = rolling on the floor laughing. In caps it means
VERY LOUDLY! or uncontrollably. It comes from chat
rooms. They have many similar abreviations.
LOL = laughing out loud
BRB = be right back
AFK = away from key board
There are many others!

When the stranger comes to town (He picked Mayberry
cuz he was in the service with someone from Mayberry
and it sounded like a great place.) he eventually buys
a gas station.
Andy bought a laundromat to pay for Opie's college.
Aunt Bee opens a restuarant - Chinese even, I think.
The Mendlebright sisters make a killing from they
liquor for "special occassions." Especially after
they eliminate all the competition.
"...just learn to love 'em."
