<<Now I don't want to start a moulage, but Tom Silby run
off to Louisiana, I think. He didn't pretend he was
dead, it was his wife Annabelle, not Henrietta, who
told everyone that he was dead.

And as far as Thelma Lou goes, my memory isn't what it
used to be. But I don't remember her dumping anyone.
I remember she was shown married in a color ep, but in
Return to Mayberry, she was single. Whether she was
a widow or a divorced lady, it don't say.

And, again, tryin' to be as nice as I can, who's
Linda? Do you mean Lydia? Are you sure you've
watched TAGS, that means The Andy Griffith Show.

I hope that I don't get a "Rude" for this, but I just
had to speak my mind. Might just be that my toupee is
on a little too tight. Or as Opie figures, it might
be the meatloaf.

...and while we're at it...they brought back the original animated opens to
"I Love Lucy," it might just be even easier for them to bring back the
original closing credits to TAGS, in which Andy and Opie are leaving their
fishing trip and Opie runs back to grab the fish he dropped! They can easily
cover up the corner of the screen that had the Sanka jar and the Post cereal
boxes if they wished...

Actually, in "Return to Mayberry," Andy and Barney discuss Thelma Lou at one
point and it gives us a hint at what happened with regard to her marriage.

(I'm going by memory, so this may not be exact.)

Andy (to Barney): "Too bad her marriage to that contractor didn't work out, I
heard it lasted only 18 months"

Barn: "Sixteen, and he wasn't a contractor..."

Regards,

Jake

We, too, would like to see uncut TAGS. Just yesterday we
saw the episode where Barny was acting sherriff & deputized
Otis. He threw a tomato, which Otis was not quick enough to
catch. Well, the very last clip had Otis getting back at
Barney by throwing a tomato at him. That was the first time
we ever saw that closing clip. There must be many more on
the cutting room floor that need to be recovered.

Tom Silbey ran off to Charlottsville not Louisiana. believe me I would
remember any reference to Louisiana since I live in Shreveport. Hey everyone
help me out but the only reference to La. was when Andy was telling Peggy
that he and Barney tried to go to New Orleans one summer in an old car Andy
had. Can anyone remember anything else?

>>>Does anyone out there in Mayberry land know if Frances Bavier(Aunt
Bee)was ever married. Also does anyone know how old she was when she passed
away...

She was married once, briefly, when she was still quite young. Very little
is known about that part of her life. She died December 6, 1989, just shy
of her 87th birthday.

None of the other 7 cast members from GI appears on TAGS, but some of the

Scotti, Sterling Holloway, and Don Rickles.

I was watching the episode "Good Bye Sheriff Taylor" the other night and
noticed something I had never seen before. When Barney, Goober and Floyd
were setting up the pretend assault in Floyds shop, I noticed that there
was no front window like in other episodes. Were there any other episodes
without the window? Seemed a little odd. Just curious.

Barney's landlady??

We never learn Barney's landlady's first name. She may have been Maude
Mendelbright (didn't sound much like her on the phone, though), or perhaps
there were other Mendelbright ladies in town. Don't forget, the memorial
horse trough was also named for a Mendelbright (David G.), which might imply
that the Mendelbright family is (or was) a prominent one.

Hello,

My name is Chad Autry the fire chief of the Clement Volunteer Fire Department
in NC. We are planning a Community Heritage festival in March of 2002, which
we are planning to be a big event. What I am writing about, I'm looking for a
Mayberry Squad car replica in NC to appear at our festival. Our whole dept is
huge fans of the Andy Griffeth show, so is our community. And the Andy
Griffeth show has alot to do with our heritage. Most of us were raised on
that show. Any help on a listing or listings for people in NC that has a
replica in NC would be very appreciated. And any other ideas you have would
be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

God Bless
