Another meanderin'...I also believe Ronny (Ronnie?) Schell was on both TAGS and Gomer Pyle, USMC. Mr. Schell was a regular on Gomer Pyle, and was the fur coat salesman in the color episode of TAGS when Emmett wanted to get Martha a fur coat. I could be wrong, though...I have been before. When he came back, Andy told him he couldn't come back - that it just wasn't right (of course he was talking about Tom's passing). And later Andy almost arrested Tom for being a disorderly corpse. (One of my favorite lines!) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2001 17:57:42 -0500 From: "Sandra Sils" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Andy in the Mornin' Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I thought you might like to know. TVLand is showing Andy in the morning at 10:30 ET/9:30 CT. My husband stumbled across it for me and I about had a fit. Just seems to make the morning complete. I went last Saturday and the weather was great, in the upper 70's. I was surprised that we still had to wait in line all the way outside at the Snappy Lunch but we finally got to eat a porkchop sandwich and the same man was cooking them that cooked for Andy. The waitress said the "famous" way was with mustard, onions, slaw, and chili but I wasn't sure if chili would be good on it so I got one without. It was good! Then later, we went to the diner and I got a banana split. It was so big, I couldn't eat it all! The jail was closed (Mon-Fri), I guess it was open special on Sat for the Mayberry Days. One thing I was told about that I didn't realize the last time was that on the 3rd floor of the Emporium they had props set up from the show for photo ops. Most people I saw last time only went to the 2nd floor to use the bathroom (as did I). I was able to get some cute pics, there was the jail door with the famous keys hanging in the key hole. I got behind the door and reached for the keys in the pic. There was also a porch w/swing,Wally's filling station (pumps & sign), and Andy's desk (like in the jail) with an old timey phone. We went to Wally's and got a nectorine crush in a bottle and just like Floyd said," Say, that's good!" For those who don't like huge crowds, I would recommend going back on a regular day. You can enjoy the sites more. We also went to the Mayberry Mall, which had absolutely nothing in it about the show. The leaves were an added bonus, also. Lots of luck to you and yours! If you search eBay for "Andy Griffith" you would have missed this one because apparently this seller considers apostrophes to be optional. I always search for "Andy Grif* " because this will catch misspellings such as Grifith, Griffin, Griffeth, etc. It's amazing how many fans there are of "The Andy Griffin Show" (also starring "Don Knox"). Anyway, below is the URL for the auction. These items are said to be from Andy Griffith's collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1022448591 - --Paul ------------------------------ End of wbmutbb-digest V3 #319 ***************************** ************************************************** ~ Visit our sponsor ~ Weaver's Department Store ~ http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/ ************************************************** You must send your comments to the Digest from the address you used to join WBMUTBB or your message will not be posted.
