If anyone is intereseted in purchasing a very slightly used
version of Mitch Jayne's book - Home Grown Stories and Home
Fried Lies you can do so via Amazon.com's used books.

I am not a professional book seller - just a Mayberryite
looking to make some room on my shelves - so I only have
one book to sell - this one time.

The book is like new.

Just go to Amazon.com and look up the book title and then
click on "buy it used". Look for "Elohehis1" as the seller
- - that's me!

Like I said, I only have one and it is mine. It's just a
regular book - no autographs or anything. I won't be
making a regular plea on here to sell things just thought
you folks, of all people, might be interested.

take care and thanks for your time,

Rev. Joe

I think he was also in that episode in which Aunt Bee does the furniture
polish commercial...

A television reporter in Alabama once did a feature story about a guy who had
a Mayberry patrol car replica...he went through the *entire* story calling it
"The Andy Griffin Show." Boy did *he* ever get it from the guys upstairs!

We also visited Mayberry Days for the first time this past year and enjoyed it
very much. We had visited Mount Airy many times before Mayberry Days so we
knew what a difference the crowds would make. The Snappy Lunch is always busy
from about 10:00 AM on up to closing - most of the local folks get "take outs"
to give us "tourists" some room to sit and eat. Charles Dowell will do any and
everything to see that your visit to the Snappy Lunch is enjoyable. We
especially enjoy visiting Weaver's on the third floor of the Main & Oak
Emporium where we can shop for shirts, videos, etc. and during non events,
it's very quiet up there. The only known actual prop from the show in Mt. Airy
is Otis' original hat on loan to the Visitor's Center up from the Snappy Lunch
on N Main. One of the best things about visiting Mount Airy during these times
is the opportunity to meet some very nice folks who are able to take the time
to visit in the true spirit of Mayberry.

Hey Everybody,

In reference to different states and towns mentioned on TAGS. I watched
the other day the episode about Thelma Lou's skeet cousin from Arkansas.
I like the episode alot. Also, in reference to Andy and Barney making it
to DeQueen Junction. There is not a DeQueen Junction, but there is a town
here in Arkansas called DeQueen and it is close to Louisiana and Texas.
It is just a little north of Texarkana which is the title of one of the
songs Mayberry's own famous singer made popular called "Texarkana in the
Morning" and his name is Kesee Hazelton. I am sorry if the name is
mispelled. Anyway, have a great weekend.

Don't wear my hat Ange!

Hey Everyone!
Having awakened early this morning with no 5:00am andy on WGN-TV(only
during the week)I flipped thru the channels and saw"Bewitched"'s Samantha
calling the infamous Dr.Bombay(Dr.Bombay,Dr. Bombay, emergency, come right
away)!Who should pop in the room but Malcolm Merriwether as the good doctor!
Next up,"I Dream of Jeannie" with Barbara Eden(the friendly manicurist)
as everybody's favorite wish granter(the count izvan telecky{?} a close
second).
Then skipping commercials I caught Ernest T. Bass (the multi-talented
Howard Morris) in Mel Brooks' comedy "Life Stinks" as a wonderfully played
homeless person.
All in all,3 tagsspottings in 15 minutes on 3 different shows! What a way
to start a non-Ange weekend morning!
Best to you and yours, and hey to Goober- Tom Silby(still workin at
Weaver's)
P.S. i can't figure out why i have to get up to watch the 5:00am Tags every
day"live"-must just be one of them there "compelshun" complexes!

If anyone is interested in a slightly used copy of Mitch
Jayne's book - Home Grown Stories and Home Fried Lies you
can go to Amazon.com and look up the book under the same
title and click on "buy it used".

Look for me, elohehis1, and follow the directions.

The book looks new, no marks, tears or anything else. It
is a normal book - no autographs or anything special -
except it'll be cheaper than new!

I'm not a professional book seller, just a dad trying to
make a little money for his family's Christmas by thinning
out my book collection.

peace,

Rev. Joe
