There is not a DeQueen Junction, but there is a town here in Arkansas called
DeQueen and it is close to Louisiana and Texas.

Writer Everett Greenbaum put the De Queen reference into the script as a way
of saying hello to some relatives of his who lived in De Queen, Arkansas
(BTW, De Queen is two words). When Andy says "De Queen junction," he is
probably referring to a rural intersection where one would turn to get to De
Queen.

I guess Andy and Barney took the scenic route. Seems to me if they left
North Carolina bound for New Orleans and got stranded in De Queen, Arkansas,
they must have been about 400 miles off course.

You guys have mentioned Arkansas and Louisiana, now you have me wondering how

many references there are to Tennessee. I have seen the one where Andy calls

Memphis or Chattanooga after Barney catches a criminal by the RR tracks, and

I have heard of a couple of others. Can anyone here think of any?

Hey Everybody,

In reference to different states and towns mentioned on TAGS. I watched
the other day the episode about Thelma Lou's skeet cousin from Arkansas.
I like the episode alot. Also, in reference to Andy and Barney making it
to DeQueen Junction. There is not a DeQueen Junction, but there is a town
here in Arkansas called DeQueen and it is close to Louisiana and Texas.
It is just a little north of Texarkana which is the title of one of the
songs Mayberry's own famous singer made popular called "Texarkana in the
Morning" and his name is Kesee Hazelton. I am sorry if the name is
mispelled. Anyway, have a great weekend.

I didn't get to Mayberry Days but I am considering visiting Mt. Airy in a
couple of weeks. Any suggestions on an agenda of what to do and see to make
"a weekend out of it'?
I really want to see what I've been missing.

The following is a message I just sent to TVLand. I suggest y'all do the same
if you are with me on this. Sometimes they just lay on my chest!

Dear Postmaster Steve,
Well you all have finally done it! You have made me madder than a rooster in
an empty hen house!
I just finished watching The Andy Griffith Show, Episode #147; Goober and the
art of love, one of my favorites.
I can't wait to see Goober cheering Andy on as he and Barney are peeking in
Helen's window, and, one of the best lines (in my opinion) of the entire
series "Goober, tell your girlfriend to stop hanging her head out of the
window like a dog" But, your editors decided to cut the car ride scene. I
was very disappionted to see that the people who are editing these shows are
obviously NOT Andy fans. Hasn't TAGS made TVLAND enough money already? Your
promos give us the impression that you are fans of these shows with your
little trivia tid-bits (and I enjoy them), yet, your actions show us that you
would rather be watching wrestling or Survivor. Are you all that greedy that
you have to cut some great scenes from many shows just to sell an extra 30
second commercial? You have not only butchered many episodes of Andy, but,
you have also done it to Beaver, Dick Van Dyke and many others. Stop the
greed and get back to the entertainment.
You can be sure that a copy of this will be sent to The Andy Griffith Show
Rerun Watchers Club and there are millions of us!
Lots of luck to you and yours.
Bonnie,
Grand Junction, Colorado

Boy did I goof. Here I go and correct someone about
Henrietta Silby and I make a bigger mess of things
than there was to begin with. I am ashamed of myself.
I deserved a big ole RUDE. I got messed up on
meatloaf, Charlottesville, and Thelma Lou. I'm just
gonna sit over here in the stag line, adjust my
toupee, and pick up Ernest T. Bass' rocks. I feel no
account.

I guess it just goes to show ya, sometimes it's best
to just leave well enough alone. Thanks to everyone
who pointed out my mistakes. Shows me that I dont'
know as much as I thought, and I throw myself at the
mercy of the Digest. I think my punishment ought to
be $2.00 or 24 hours of TAGS, of which I'll choose 24
hours. Why waste $2.00?
