In regard to the question about references to Tennessee, don't forget Floyd
the Gay Deceiver is going to Nashville if Andy doesn't help him.

There are a couple of Nashville references on TAGS. One was when Floyd
threatened to go to Nashville because he didn't want his pen pal lady friend to
know he lied about being rich. The other is when the lady was speeding through
Mayberry and a woman came into the courthouse to report it and she talked about
her buck-toothed sister (the Beaver) going to a dentist in Nashville.

About a year ago I decided to try to tape all 241episodes of TAGS.I knew this
would'nt be the easy task in the world, considering there are ao many
episodes.TAGS was aired nightly twice on a local channel&at diffrent times on
Nick at Nite&TV land.I am now proud to say I only need 4 episodes to round out
my collection. Most of my tapes are done on 2hr tapes taped on SP for the best
quality.I have found that when I can't find anything on TV I can pop one of my
Andy Tapes in the VCR & really enjoy watching it as if for the first time. The
show is so enjoyable & I could never tire of them.My wife often says to me
"can't we watch what's on TV"instead of watching Andy tapes,so like a little
wounded puppy I let her watch what she wants to.Well I have rambled about Andy
long enough.I was wondering if anyone else out there had any similar
stories...Would like to hear from you...Mark Johnson

TN mentions in TAGS

Remember when Andy had to talk Floyd out of heading for
Nashville in Floyd the Gay Deceiver? "Floyd Lawson you're a
deceitful wretch, I HATE YOU!"

Ellen Brown came in on the Nashville bus with bad memories
of Pierre and a manicure kit.

In Barney's Sidecar episode, Checkpoint Chickie gets created
after Mrs Beggs (?) got run off the road by a speeder. Her
sister Tilly had the teeth trouble after her father took her
to a "no good" dentist in Nashville whose office was in the
back of a store

an agenda of what to do and see to make "a weekend out of it'?

Having grown up in North Carolina, I have visited Mt. Airy many times and
have to say that it is one of the best small towns I have ever seen. The
citizens there do an admirable job of promoting tourism in the town while
maintaining a down-to-earth, non-commercial atmosphere. You are really going
to enjoy your trip. Here are some sites that I would recommend:

The Snappy Luch - Though belaboring the obvious, you have to do this. I
repeat, have to. Charles Dowell cooks up some incredible food and striking
up a conversation with locals there makes for a good experience. Keep the
hours of operation in mind, though. It closes early (@ 1:15 PM if I remember
correctly) so make it an early lunch.
Downtown Cinema - Across the street from the Snappy Lunch. If you like
bluegrass music, there are impromptu jam sessions there on Thursdays and
Saturday as well as formal concerts on some evenings. The downtown cinema
also shows movies on non-concert nights and hosts a radio show on Saturday
mornings.
Mt. Airy Regional History Museum - This is brand new and I have not been,
but this museum is several years in the works so I imagine it will provide a
great overview of the city & region.
Lasco's - I might have the name wrong (it's been several years since I was
last there), but this is an old school grocery store off Main Street. They
sell produce from local farmers and have an excellent assortment of rock
candy. I also recommend their fried apples pies.

To Anthony Sizemore on what to see in Mount Airy. As a Mount Airy native, I
can attest to the fact that the "Spirit of Mayberry" is alive and well in
ANDY GRIFFITH'S Hometown, Mount Airy, NC.

The First Thing You Need To Do is:

Contact the Mount Airy Visitors Information Center: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Ann Vaughn and her staff have many suggestions for TAGS fans. The largest
museum housing Andy Griffith memorabilia is there.

You will also want to visit the Chamber of Commerce site: www.visitmayberry.com
There you will find much information on housing, dining and attractions in
the area.

It's a great place to visit and a great place to live!!

 From the eBullet:

Jan. 19 and 20: Hollywood Collectors Show at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn
in North Hollywood, Calif. For more info, visit the event's Web site at
http://www.hollywoodcollectorshow.com. TAGS actress Margaret Kerry-Willcox
is scheduled to appear. Other Mayberry stars likely will be added.

In testing my often-faulty memory to see what character M K-W played
(and I was right!), I came across the following site

http://us.imdb.com/Name?Kerry,+Margaret

which mentioned that our very own Bess Muggins (and Helen Scoby) was
actually the model for Tinkerbell.

Subject: Bloopers?

There's a DVD for sale on ebay that is a DVD, the description of
which includes the sentence, "Includes such bonus features as trivia
q & a feature, bloopers from the filming of the show, cast
biographies, quotes, and more."

The url is http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1479695221

Are there really recorded bloopers of the show???? My understanding
is that all that stuff was gone. That'd be almost as interesting as
seeing half a boy. Any insight from anyone?
