Since the digest has been coming very infrequently as
of late, I had not seen the post about naming the
states alphabetically. Forgive me for this dreadful
sin. "The tears on my pillow bespeak the pain in my
heart." Don't know if I'll be able to sleep at night
now, after Miss Crump smacked mah hand for speaking
out of turn. Fortunately, I don't luvvvv Mizz Crump,
like ernest T. did,....heck, I don't even care for
her!(a non-negative observation)
As a side note, I can't believe no one here can
remember the main reference to Colorado, or more
specifically, Denver. It was the episode with the
armored car. It was coming from the Denver mint
(which is a strange route). I would have thought the
mint on the East Coast (Philly or DC?) would have been
the source, since Mayberry and Northern North Carolina
is in the East.
Please keep sending the Digest regularly (if
possible), especially during this current time of
crisis....I mean the fact that TV Land is showing only
eps. 160-249 at night. The withdrawls and TAGS D.T.'s
are killin' me. At least I have many videos from
1-159 for relaxation.

Hidee!
The weekend TVLand ran their "Gunsmoke" marathon, I happened to see one
episode with FOUR TAGS alums! George Lindsey (Goober) and Hoke Howell (Dud
Wash) were brothers (along with a third actor) trying to shoot Festus.
Denver Pyle (Briscoe) was the doctor what sewed up Festus' head after an
accident, and Dub Taylor (the "circuit preacher" in "Mountain Wedding,"
among other roles) was the bartender at the local saloon. It was cool to
see Dud and Goob as outlaws!
Congratulations and a big THANK YOU to Allan as WBMUTBB celebrates its tenth
anniversary! And a very happy Thanksgiving to everyone in our Mayberry
family.

All the thanks goes to you, Allan! You have joined together one of THE
greatest group of people any of us could ever hope to meet! And I'm sure
that I speak for most of us when I say "CHEERS" and "here's to many years to
come!"

I believe a lady asks Andy to call a cousin in Colorado while he is in
California. He replies that CO is several states away and she becomes
indignant.

Correct! In the episode "Off to Hollywood," Ms. Larch asks Andy to
telephone her second cousin who lives in Colorado, since he's going to be
"right out west" anyway. Apparently, back in those days, Mayberryites
didn't have a way to make long distance calls all the way to Colorado.
There's at least one other Colorado location (not a town, per se) mentioned
on TAGS. Here's a
hint: bad hair day.
Can anybody come up with one for Connecticut?

Hey y'all, I hate to jump out o' line, but can anyone tell me if Hawaii is
mentioned in any episode?
ALSO, I have a Spanish teacher and was wonderin' which episode it is that
Howard goes to Puerto Rico (She's from there)
LASTLY, can anyone tell me exactly how many episodes does Floyd have a wife
and kid (besides Andy playin' the part), and how many he is just a widower?

Subject: Cane on TAGS
There is a cane for sale on ebay that the seller has listed as a prop from
TAGS and "used in numerous episodes." I cannot think of an episode that has
a cane unless it was used by an extra on the street in the background. Can
anyone recall an episode where they saw this prop? I'm not interested in
buying, nor do I doubt the seller. I thought some of you "trained noticers"
would recognize it.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to Alan & WBMUTBB on the 10th Anniversary!!
Because of this special chapter of TAGSRWC, some of our country's finest
people have crossed my path and come into my life. Some of these have become
my best friends. Through them, and through this endeavor, this Mayberry of
hopes, dreams, and fantasies has come to be real. May you all have a
wonderful, thoughtful, grateful Thanksgiving! God bless us all, everyone!

I would like to add my congratulations to Allan for the superb job he's has
done with the beloved Digest. He and Icorresponded on several occasions then
I had the supreme pleasure of meeting him in person when he and his lovely
wife Jan dropped in to see me on their California junket a few weeks back,
I can testify that this prince of a guy is even more princely in person, we
had a great time pawing over old scripts I had written and discussing why
giraffes were so gol durn selfish. and just why some things MUST be nipped in
the bud.
So HAPPY #10, Allan,/Best wishes and stay out of spidery cellars.

Subject: Columbia House videos
Happy Thanksgiving to all of y'all! I have a favor to ask. We have the
first 8 Columbia House videos that came out, and were *supposed* to be
on the list to start receiving the next set, but they never came. I
wrote the folks at C.House, and they told me that I need to let them
know which ones I don't have so I can order them. Well, being as how I
never GOT them, I don't have any idea which ones I *didn't* get! Was
hoping someone could either personally email me the complete list of
videos available so far, or direct me to a website listing them all. I
did go to the Col.House site and they just have a place where I can sign
up to get them but they don't LIST them. *sigh.* Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance! Lotsa luck,
