For buying some Mayberry stuff.
I have sold a book or three at Amazon.com. They guarantee
the sales and help with shipping costs - unlike ebay. A
gent on this list, right cheer, bought my "Home Fried Lies"
copy!
You might want to check there before going to ebay.
Just the thought from under my bucket.

Someone asked about an Oregon refernce. The kerosene
cucumber episode mentions it. The man that Barney stops
and give the jar of pickles to is heading back home to
Oregon (Portland to be exact).

Remember when Mr.Tuckers car broke down in Mayberry and nobody could help
him,and nobody could talk on the phone because of the Mendlebright sisters
for 3 or 4 hours, what about when Gomer called Andy when Mr.Tucker stoled his
truck. And also on the episode"Dogs, dogs, dogs"whem Opie took that little dog
home with him and the dog ran away,Andy and Barney were walking down the
sidewalk and Opie caught up with them and told them that the little dog ran
away, and when they got to the courthouse there were 6or7 more dogs inside the
courthouse, well who let the dogs in the courthouse with the doors
closed. Thanks and goodluck to you and yours from ddan221"Shakedown".

>>>ALSO, I have a Spanish teacher and was wonderin' which episode it is that
Howard goes to Puerto Rico (She's from there)
Actually, he moves (temporarily) to an island called St. Benedict. The
episode is "Howard's New Life," number 235.
>>>LASTLY, can anyone tell me exactly how many episodes does Floyd have a
wife and kid (besides Andy playin' the part), and how many he is just a
widower?
Floyd mentions his wife Melba in episode 29, "Quiet Sam." We never see her,
however. By the time episode 71, "Floyd the Gay Deceiver" rolls around,
he's a widower, so obviously Melba passed away sometime between those two
episodes.
Floyd has two sons that we know of. We see one of them playing the
saxophone in "Those Gossipin' Men." Listen closely, and you'll hear Floyd
call him "Wendell," or maybe it's "Randall." The dialogue goes something
like this:
Floyd: Are you sure you don't want my son to play you another tune?
Mr. Finch: No no no, those three tunes were very nice.
Floyd: Hear that, Wendell? That means a lot, coming from a man like Mr.
Finch.
Floyd also has a son named Norman, who plays Little League baseball. We
never see him, but he is mentioned in "The Jinx." The guys in the barber
shop are discussing an error that occurred during a game:
Andy: Floyd, could that've happened maybe because your boy ain't a very good
ball player?
Floyd: It was the only fly that my Norman dropped in the whole game.
Andy: Well, I don't know, but I believe it was the only fly that come TO
your Norman in the whole game.

>>> ... Can anyone recall an episode where they saw this prop? I'm not
interested in buying, nor do I doubt the seller. I thought some of you
"trained noticers" would recognize it.

>>>
I took a look at that auction, and I must say it looks mighty suspicious to
me. I don't recall ever seeing a cane like that in any episode. This same
guy is selling a razor that he claims was used in "numerous episodes,"
however I can't recall ever seeing such a razor either (we do see a straight
razor in the barber shop a couple of times, but this is a completely
different type of razor). Here is the URL:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1488575066
I'll contact this guy and ask him to tell me SPECIFICALLY which episodes
have these props in them, but I think I can already guess what his answer
will be.

Barney in Illinios
