Allan,
A little late but I was just wondering if you would give me the e-mail
address of Phil Lee so that I can write to him and tell him how much we
missed him at Mayberry Days. Thanks.

Paul, I emailed the seller of these items on ebay. Asked him if he knew
what shows these were used in. He was very nice in his reply, the things
he is selling were issued to extras to use or as props in the tv shows
and movies. So a lot of them probably wouldn't be highly visible or
noticeable unless a person was especially looking for them. Each item
comes with a certificate of authenticity. They were purchased from a
large prop company. Maybe some of you who have all the tapes of TAGS
can spot a person using the cane. Best of luck to you and yours. Mary
Grace in Georgia

BARNEY: I don't trust him Andy, and you know why?

    a. A guy moves into town.
    2. He has no job; and
    c. He wants to marry Mrs. Bendelmright.

ANDY: Barney, you're gassed!

Hello t o all honorary Mayberry citizens. I really enjoy checking my e-mail
everyday to get up to date on the latest goings on. I recieved a copy of The
Pocket the other day and I have read every word of it,I also ordered several
things for my new office at work, such as a Barney light switch cover and a
mouse pad. I also noticed that a fellow from Bossier City,La won the Miss
Crumps quiz Mark Walker, I don't know him (yet) but since I am a 16 year
veteran of the Bossier City Fire Dept I hope he reads this and looks me up.
My biggest treasure I just found out is coming home to me even as I type
this,my wife is coming home from SanDiego,Ca. today and she told me that my
mother in law was sending me a autographed program from a performance of No
Time For Sergeants she attended in New York many many years ago,it is signed
by Andy Griffith and Don Knotts. Hey folks no way will my mother in law ever
get a "Leg of Lamb" from me. Well so long for now can't wait for the next
volume to come out.

I realize that Andy's version of Romeo and Juliet
appears in Episode 9: "A Feud is a Feud", but are any
of Andy's other stand up routines used in other episodes?

I don't know if anyone else caught this, but the day the
airplane crashed in new york recently, the airline CEO
held a brief press conference. He had to leave and
deferred all future questions to another high ranking
person there with the airline, Al Becker. I thought that
was a neat coincidence. Al Becker is a person Andy tried
to tell a funny story about except nobody knew him
so "it don't mean anything if you don't know him".

Hey folks,

To play a fun trivia game against Clint Howard, head over to www.zone.com.
Click "Grinch Blender" and then "play outsmart against Clint Howard." In
between the questions, Clint talks about his role in the Grinch movie, so
even if you don't care for trivia games it's still worth checking out just
to listen to his comments.

Many of us can send our best to Allan for 10 years of maintaining the
Digest, but probably few of those will mean as much as the one that just
appeared from our beloved Script Writer Harvey Bullock.

Mr. Bullock, as I understand it is a long time Digest reader, and
occasionally blesses us with his insight and memories of the show. I have
saved copies of all of his "ask the writer" comments.

There is noone else I can think of that I would have liked to fulfill my
dream of sitting and visiting with such a Griffith Show legend as Mr.
Bullock than Allan Newsome. Congratulations Allan!

Thank you Mr. Bullock for sharing, because knowing humble Allan, he would
have never told us. It's good to hear from you again. We know that its not
possible for you to answer Emails from all of us nutty fans, but keep
dropping us a line in the Digest now and then please. We enjoy knowing that
you are doing well, and just as sharp as ever.

The Untrained Voice
