I don't really know if any of the other stand-up
routines of Andy were ever in any episodes,(I'm not as
observant as some of you)but I have the CD and really
have enjoyed listening to it.Also, there are some
really good musical Cds out of his that I have. Some
are of gospel music and others are of folk music like
he used to sing on the show, such as the "church in the
wildwood".Recommend them for everybody.......there
good, real good..........and none of them make me cry.

>>>I realize that Andy's version of Romeo and Juliet appears in Episode 9:
"A Feud is a Feud", but are any
of Andy's other stand up routines used in other episodes?
That was the only episode which included Andy's earlier comedy material.
Scattered among other episodes are a few of his old lines (such as "I
b'lieve we got 'er if she don't jump"); also, the episode title "Andy
Discovers America" was borrowed from his story about Christopher Columbus
(aka "Crazy Chrissy.")

Nobody came up with the other Colorado reference I was thinking of: Pikes
Peak. In a couple of episodes, while in the barber shop, Andy refers to a
cowlick as a "Pikes Peak." (Seems to me it should be "Pike's Peak;" I guess
it was named by one of them local officials who could read and write, but
had not yet learned to do his own punctuatin'.)
I don't think there are any TAGS references to Connecticut, so let's move
on. Next in line are Delaware, Florida, Georgia and Hawaii. I guess we
could also count District of Columbia, even though it's not a state.
I haven't come up with one for Delaware, but the others are definitely
mentioned in TAGS episodes.

What follows is the dialogue between Barney and Andy from the Horse Trader
about the new stamp machine:
Barney: You know when they put that stamp machine in the post office. That
just frosted me!
Andy: That bothered you, did it?
Barney: Yes it did. I don't think it is right for the United States
government to be transacting business through a slot machine! I sat down and
wrote a letter to the Postmaster General about it.
Andy: Oh, you did?
Barney: Yes I did. I didn't mail it, though.
Andy: Why didn't you mail it?
Barney: I wouldn't buy a stamp from that machine!
Andy: Barney, I'll tell you the truth, You are a bird in this world!
