"Something"? That's almost like callin' me a creatchure!
I brought it up. Can you imagine Fred going to Floyd's for a shave/
haircut?
FRED- Here's my 2 bits, fellow. No how about a trim?
FLOYD- Ooh. How about a quantity discount?
FRED- What did you mean by that crack?
FLOYD-Nothing, it's just that I am fresh out of head powder.

I want to thank all of those that bid on the Al Hirschfeld/Don Knotts signed
print that I had listed on Ebay. I have another print of a Hirschfeld
drawing of Don Knotts that was used for the 1961 comedy album titled "DON
KNOTTS - AN EVENING WITH ME" and once again, it's been signed by both Don
Knotts and Al Hirschfeld. If you are interested and would like to help the
SEPTEMBER 11 FUND, you can go to the website listed below, thanks!

There was a big debate raging in Charlotte, NC a couple of years ago about
this very issue: What to call the "heart of Charlotte" (I think they
finally decided on "Uptown.") There was an interesting article in the
Business Journal about it. They quote an 87-year old man who talks about
"skating uphill to uptown," so there is someone else who concurs about the
hill business.
Here is the URL:

I got on a bus the other day and told the driver where I wanted to go, and
he said, "Oh you want to go uptown." He took me... downtown.
Oh well,
Jason

Hey, gang, just gotta tell somebody (else) that me and the mrs. are
mighty proud of our new son, born Dec 31 - a healthy 9 pounds and 2
ounces. Allan, you might remember me and my wife, pregnant then,
at Mayberry Days backstage.
Can't wait to teach him the joys of TAGS and learning to love that
serene life of Mayberry.
Also, a question, who are all the superhero comic book-type
characters mentioned on TAGS - I can think of someone mentioning
Captain Marvel once but thats all. Help please....

I thought this was an interesting observation. It just
occurred to me recently that the list or unmarrieds on TAGS
is unusually lengthy because almost all the regular
characters are single---Andy, Barney, Aunt Bee, Gomer,
Goober, Helen, Thelma Lou, Howard, Floyd ... others?
