Does anyone know what the saying "You are a bird in this world." means?
I don't know how many times it is said on TAGS, but I know that Andy says
it to Aunt Bee at least once. I think it is the episode about Opie and
the bully and I think it has something to do with Andy and Aunt Bee's
discussion of her apple pie, but I am not 100% sure. I hope that those
comments posted by Dan were some sort of a prank. I just can't imagine
why anyone would publicly post comments like that, even if a person was
misguided enough to think that way. There are just some things that are
completely inappropriate and offensive and that is certainly one of
them. Cheers to Allan for his immediate and most appropriate response
and also for giving the offender the benefit of the doubt in case it was
some sort of a sick prank. There is most certainly room enough in
Mayberry for everyone, but there is no room for hate of any type. I
wonder why the paragraphs in my messages all run together when posted on
the digest. I don't type them that way. Mary Grace GossageAndy: "Didn't
you belong to a secret club when you were little?"Barney: "I can't tell

I don't know, but a "Number 2 Amber Alert" requires that at least one of them
be awake at all times.

QUESTION :

If you could have one famuos person from today to be
on TAGS, who would it be? No far picking someone who
was on the show and still living.

For example, Joey from "Friends", he would be perfect
as a Darling or Gomer & Goober's cousin.

What do you think?

This is in the episode "Trip to Mexico". Emmett says (to Howard, when Andy is
reading them the letter from Aunt Bee), "I once had a cousin who was a
personal friend of the chairman of the Liquor Control Board of the State of
Nebraska."

And to the person who wondered why we have tapes of all the episodes, THIS is
the reason, hahaha. I didn't remember the quote but after seeing so much
about it in the digest I started searching tapes for it.

"Don't take any wooden pesos."

Andy also fires Barney's pistol after he recaptures "Gentleman" Dan Caldwell.
He didn't know Barney had put his bullet in his gun. Dan Caldwell shoots at
Andy five times with nothing but a click, but when Andy takes the gun, he
fires it into the air and the shot almost makes him faint.

If anyone came up with a reference to Kansas in TAGS, I missed it. Was there
one? If so, I don't remember it.

Dear Wobble Golly Fans'
I have been reading with interest the various comments about golly-wobblers
a term used by Buddy Epson in an episode I wrote:"OPIE'S HOBO FRIEND." I
recalled my parents used the word to describe an ailment i.e. "The Jones boy
is at home with the gollywobbles" I didn't know exactly what ailment the
gollywobbles were all I knew was that I sure didn't want to catch it.
But I always liked that whacky word, and when I needed a catchy name for a
special fish hook,, Gollywobbler popped into my mind, hooks and all.
It's a fine word, feel free to use it to decribe anything gollywobblerish,
Best regards Harvey Bullock

I think we can all do without comments like those from BanjoDan. I'm
sure there's a KKK website out there somewhere for junk like that. But
please keep it away from Mayberry.
