a little girl. Loved the show as a kid and love it even more now.
QThere is always something I can relate to in the episodes of TAGS, but
usually it is the down right good honest living and the morals of the show
that get to me. It's so much fun to read WBMUTBB that is sent to me via the
internet and read how much others relish the show as much as I do. I consider
myself a huge fan, but my goodness, there are so many of you out there that
are so knowledgeable in regards to actors and other trivia concerning TAGS.
It sure is a pleasure to share the same interests concerning TAGS! And some
of you are just down right funny!

Was it just the late sixties fashions, or was Aneta Corsaut expecting a
baby during any of the color episodes? "Howard's Main Event" and the one
when Tena Andrews sweeps Barney off his feet come to mind.

On the subject of accents. I was raised in FL., for 12 yrs. of my life. Then
to NC.
Next, was TN., then AL. I also worked in TX. and KY. for a while. The biggest
difference that I noticed, is this. Yall, you all, youins, you guys or Hello,
howdy,
hey, hi. I forgot to mention SC. No matter what part of the South you're in,
the
accents change. Someone once told me that mine was mixed. I can't imagine
why!!

Andy shot Luke Colmstock in the leg (but it was never shown).
Andy shot crow and skeet shooting contest in one episode.
He also shot a gun into the air in the episode with the wakefields and
carters.

Was it really Aunt Bee's birthday? It was mine too! Maybe Andy and Barney

Paul asked,

"Now, who can name three times Sheriff Andy Taylor fires a gun in the line of
duty?"

He fired it into the courthouse ceiling after taking Barney's gun back from
"Gentleman Dan", he shot the tires out of the getaway car with Warren's pistol
when the counterfeiters were trying to escape, and he shot Luke Comstock in
the leg during a filling station robbery (however, this was not actually
shown, it was only made reference to). How'd I do, Paul?

Now, where else can you sit around and debate a word like gollywobbler only
to have the whole thing cleared up by the very person who wrote the script!
Only in Mayberry.

Of course, if Harvey was really a writer, he could have found a way to work
"kaddywhompus" into a script. "No, Barn, you can't give somebody a ticket
just because they park kaddywhompus in front of the post office."

This is a good one, but I aint gonna answer just yet. Here's
some hints:

Floyd knows his sad tale and mentions it to Aunt Bee as a
precaution.

Orville's not a butter and egg man, but may be familiar with
them in his line of work.

His girfriend's first name is mentioned by Andy as to why he
puts egg whites in his "moulage"

Could it have been Windy Wales? That was a character Don played before he

>>>I got one! I got one! "A feud is a Fued" Andy "attempts" to start the
family fued with a gun shot... they then run in opposite directions.
Michael Oliver

Right! I'd say that was in the line of duty, since the sheriff was trying
to end a feud.

>>> The next time I remember him shooting a gun, this time to stop
criminals, was when he blew out the tires of the counterfeiters. Lisa
Dale

Right again!

>>>Andy also fires Barney's pistol after he recaptures "Gentleman" Dan
Caldwell. He didn't know Barney had put his bullet in his gun.

Well, he did fire a gun in that episode (and in the skeet shooting contest
and at the carnival as well), but those times were not in the line of duty.
That's what my original question was about.

There's still one "Andy firing a gun in the line of duty" that nobody has
mentioned.

Helen Crump was arrested in Kansas and caused quite a scandal in Mayberry when
everyone found out. She almost lost her job over it. She was doing a thesis,
but everyone thought she was running around with a gangster guy. She had went
to extremes with boyfriends - first a gangster, then a
lawman! I'm glad she stayed with the lawman. He was clearly the best choice.

Stoner when it is needed. ..... just a thought....
