Hey everybody. I brought up the idea about the classic scenes and it really
has been fun reading everyone's favorites. I guess there's a great one or
two in every episode and some come just with an expression. As I watch Andy
on TV Land they are just great, like in the pickle episode when Barney keeps
talking and Andy is trying to get rid of him and he gets his arm caught in
the door, if that's not a classic there never will be one. We could list a
great one everyday after we watch Andy on whatever channel you pick it up
on. I just love hearing everybody's favorite. It makes me remember some
great comedy. Well go to go and keep sending in those classic scenes.

I posted a favorite scene yesterday. Then, last night, I dreamed about
another favorite scene and woke up laughing. I woke Mr. Goob up with all my
guffawing and he asked "What's so funny that you dreamed?" but I wouldn't
tell him (have to keep him guessing sometimes to make things more
interesting). I'll tell my fellow Goobers however. It was the Miracle Salve
scene with Dr, Pendike and Opie Taylor, Sr. Need I say more. I hear you
laughing - yes I do!!

I hope Debbie Rauch writes out all the info and stories she got on "Aunt
Bee" when she visited Siler City and shares them with us. If it's too
long for the Digest, perhaps our webmaster will provide a link to some
other site for it. I, for one, would greatly appreciate this
opportunity, as I'm sure would other fans.

I, too have never been. I came close back in 1996 I
believe. I always drive right through I-77 in the Mt
Airy area on my way to Pennsylvania to visit my
relatives each year and that one year, I went in August
instead of the usual June or July. I stayed in the
comfort Inn in Mount Airy (the only crime was the $60
they charged for the room). This was a few weeks before
the Mayberry days though. Before I got back on the road
the next morning, I went into town and took pictures all
over the place. Only problem was, my camera was like
Barney's gun: unloaded. OOOOOPS!
But, I think I am going to try very hard to go to it
this year! I've always heard good things about it.

For my money, I think that Ron Howard was the best child actor I have
ever seen. You watch most others and you can tell they are just
"saying" the words they are told to say, but it's not really believable.

That reminds me of one of the all-time great TV in-jokes. It's from the
"Happy Days" episode that introduced Mork to Richie and the gang. In one
scene Mork is watching TV and we hear a voice that says "We'll return to the
Andy Griffith Show right after these messages." Mork (Robin Williams) brings
down the house with "Love that Opie!" then makes a crack about how such a
nice boy could have a Martian name!

BTW, when Ron Howard gets his Oscar for directing "A Beautiful Mind," who
expects him to hold up his statuette and sing "I found my
thriiiilllllllll...."??!!

Congrats to JMPhllps.
Yes, Barney and Thelma Lou did meet at a funeral. A #2 amber alert
requires one of either Barney and Andy to be awake at all times. Flloyd did
spend 4 yrs on the City counsel.

  Here are 3 more ?'s.
1. Who was the co- editor of the "Mayberry Sun"?.

2. What two recipies did Aunt Bea win 1st prize for at the county & state
fair ?

3. Does Andy keep a hand gun in the house, and if he does where does he keep
it ?

Good luck on these questions.
