"I hope Debbie Rauch writes out all the info and stories she got on "Aunt
Bee" when she visited Siler City and shares them with us. If it's too
long for the Digest, perhaps our webmaster will provide a link to some
other site for it. I, for one, would greatly appreciate this
opportunity, as I'm sure would other fans."
Yes, please share with us-I think this is a great idea-would have loved
making the trip to Siler City with you-just seeing the name is exciting!-but
the next best thing would be reading in detail about all the great sites you
took in-also would it be possible to include any pictures you took, also?
What a great trip to make!
Mrs.
Mendlebright
I would love to share the stories & photos from Siler City. I just didn't know
how to go about it since not everyone had something nice to say, so I wasn't
sure about posting it. If it is OK, I will write them out and scan the photos
and I can either link them to my website or you can e-mail me & I will e-mail
it back ...whichever our webmaster thinks is appropriate.

Kirk, you can order a real nice, but short video here of

In reguard to the question asked by Mike b about whether Andy kept a hand gun
in the house and where.
In the episode High Noon in Mayberry Andy does indeed get a handgun down from
the cabinet (Hutch?)
where aunt bee keeps her dishes, which is behind the dining table. He then gets
the bullets for the gun from the
top right hand drawer of the bottom part of the cabinet.
One of the great scenes from this episode is where Barney asks Otis if he
wants him (barney) to spread it around
town that Otis is a chicken and Otis replies "I don't mind" It cracks me up
every time.

I don't know how related to Mayberry this is but to the gentleman who wrote
about Barney and Thelma Lou not knowing each other in high school, I will add
this. My husband and I are from a town in Kentucky with a population of about
600. The local high school is made up of students from the entire county. In
my graduating class there were about 200 people as was my husband's. Here is
the funny part, we are like Barn and Thelma Lou...We went to high school
together and didn't even know each other. We met about 12 years later when he
was doing his student teaching and got to talking about high school. That's
when we discovered he was a senior when I was a junior and I was an usher at
his graduation and went to the prom and everything and we still didn't meet!
I guess if Mayberry Union High is made up of students from all over the county
of Mayberry it is possible for Barn and Thelma Lou to not have met. I know, I
am proof! LOL
Boy, Giraffes are selfish!

Guys,
This is one of those questions that pops in my mind in the middle of the
night when I can't sleep. What is the name of the rock band Opie joins (and
eventually, so does Clara Edwards) in the episode "Opie's Group"? Also,
what's the name of the band that performs the "Mayberry, My Hometown" song on
television? Thanks in advance...

The other day on NPR they played a tape of Andy doing the "Romeo and
Juliet" routine. I 'bout had a spell, it was so funny. My only regret was I
was in the car and was unable to record it. I wonder if any of that stuff is
available anywhere ?

I tell ya, Barney was right, Mayberry has become a
regular Sin City. First moonshinin', now gamblin',
next thing you know ole Rafe will be ridin' around on
one of them motor scicles, wearin' a leather jacket.
What's the world comin' to.
