>>>I think I just saw "Blue" from "Barney's
Bloodhound" in an episode of the
Beverly Hillbillies. Has
anyone else seen "Blue" in another show?<<<
I believe this is the same dog that was used in
the Dick Van Dyke Show (my 2nd favorite oldie).
They needed an ugly dog for a skit they were
doing and it sure looked alot like Blue. of
course, they uglied him up a bit so they could
clean him up later.

I have a question about the actor Jack Shea who played Jed Hanson.
The episode Mr. Shea played in was "The Great Filling Station Robbery."
My question is Mr. Shea the former Olympian from the 1932 Winter Olympics?

I love the episode where Bobby Fleet's band takes the place of the
Mayberry band, but one question, maybe two, has always plagued me. What in
tarnation is a furbelow ? I know what an arpeggio is, is it like that ?

I LOVE WATCHING TAGS, BUT ON TV LAND THEY ARE SHOWING IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER
AND NOW THEY ARE UP TO THE SHOWS WITHOUT BARNEY. NOT NEAR AS GOOD. I JUST
DON'T LIKE ANDY IN COLOR AS IT IS NOT THE SAME. I THINK THE TAGS LOST ALOT
OF IT'S SPIRIT WHEN DON KNOTTS LEFT.
I STILL WATCH THE RERUNS A MILLION TIMES, BUT
JUST DON'T ENJOY AS MUCH!

Jeff,
I think we heard the same bell ring in our heads on this -
According to Neal Brower's "Mayberry 101", Everett Greenbaum recalls "Aneta
had a musician friend in New York and wanted to give him a thrill by using
his name in the script. So, we named Fleet's 'new horn' Phil Sunkel. The
real Phil Sunkel sued us for twenty thousand dollars. Aneta was devastated
and made many long distance phone calls trying to get Sunkel to 'call off
the dogs'. The show finally got him to settle for five thousand dollars."

Hey to you and yours,
I particularly enjoyed last night's episode on TV Land, Opie's Job. The front
porch scene at the end when Andy realizes that Opie got "fired" to let the
other boy have the job so he can help his family with the bills, tears me up
everytime. I was trying to hide a tear that was rolling down my face and I
looked over at my wife and she was crying too. This episode rates right up
there with the Opie Charity episode where Opie was saving money to buy the
little girl a coat.

I recall that he sued and won $5000 over the matter. I was told this by
Richard O. Linke during a visit to LA about 6 years ago.

Please check out the following link to an article in this month's Sky

It's an article about groups such as ours, and it is peppered with insightful

(Full disclosure: I'm the managing editor of Sky.)
Hope you enjoy it.

NOT Floyd I presume although Floyd needed a seminar on how to cut side-burns.

Subject: Clocks
Date: Fri, 1 Mar 2002 13:12:54 -0500
When Opie won the ceramic pelican at the carnival, he told Aunt Bee he
thought it would look nice on the mantle next to the clock. In all the
shots of the fireplace, I've never seen a clock. Come to think of it, I
don't recall a clock in the whole house! And in only 1 episode did I ever
see one in the court house (when Opie found the wallet with the $50 in it).
I would assume the absence of clocks from the set is just the continuity
problems they cause when shooting scenes. I've caught clock errors in major
motion pictures before so I just figured it was easier not to fool with them
unless they were involved as part of the story.
Anybody recollect any clocks?

Hey everybody,
I am wondering what is behind the door that is to the left of the cells as
you are facing them. Could it be a bathroom or possibly a stairway ( since
we know that the mayor's office is above the courthouse)? Also, when Goober
took the car apart in the courthouse, we know he had to open both front
doors to the courthouse. Have we ever seen both of them open on any other
episode?

Return to Mayberry was on tonight and I just had a couple of questions.
They may have been asked before but I cant remember for sure.
1. Where was Return to Mayberry filmed at?
2. Were the Darling Boys all the orginal characters or not?
It looked like two of them were the same but I wasnt sure about the other two.
