Subject: Aunt Bee in Jail
Date: Wed, 6 Mar 2002 08:30:36 -0500
I can remember a few other times Aunt Bee was in the cell.
She was there when Floyd was helping the "Woman Speeder" with her hair. Also,
when Goober was arrested for running a bad contest she and Floyd were in there
talking to him, and when the Darlings were there eating beans she had fixed.
It seems that she was mostly in "Cell No. 2" in most of these occasions.

Subject: Aunt Bee's Cookbook
Date: Wed, 6 Mar 2002 07:46:21 -0600
About a year ago I received Aunt Bee's recipes from Mayberry, covering all the
years of the show. Everything is in this book that was ever talked about on
the show.
Does anyone else have this really great book? My sister got it for me as we
both love TAGS. Along with the recipes goes the storyline of the show too! in
which the recipe was featured. What a treat!!! I have tried a few of them
and really quite good. Pickle recipe from Aunt Bee, the meatloaf from the
diner; chicken and dumplins; just to name a few.
Any check it out if you get the chance!
Bye,,

Donna,
I can highly recommend Terry Collins' biography of Andy entitled, "The Andy
Griffith Story". Terry is a Mount Airy native and resident who does a great
job following Andy's career from his birth to the present. I believe it's
available online from Weaver's at www.mayberry.com . I remember seeing
several copies autographed by the author several weeks ago at Weaver's on
the third floor of the Main-Oak Emporium in Mt. Airy. Good Luck!

My two boys, ages 7 and 3, are huge AGS fans. I'm proud to say I'm
raising them right.
They like a variety of episodes, but they are particularly drawn to shows
with ``bad guys'' where Andy and Barn are on the hunt for criminals.
So here's my question: What are the best AGS episodes that feature our
heroes doing their best law-enforcement work? I suspect I'm missing a few of
the better shows from that category in my tapes collection.

Don Knotts played a character, 'Wilbur Peabody', on the soap-opera "Search
for Tomorrow", in the 1950's.
One of the actor's from "Search for Tomorrow", has passed away.
Mary Stuart played Joanne 'Jo' Gardner Barron, she died on February 28,
2002, age 75.
Ms. Stuart has been playing Meta Bauer on the soap-opera "Guiding Light".
I'm too young to have seen Mr. Knotts on the soap, but I have seen Ms.
Stuart on "Guiding Light".

p.s. I just thought some long time viewers of "Search for Tomorrow" would
like to know this information.

Hey Everybody,
I have been posting alot on the digest lately. The subjects have been so
exciting. I have to disagree and according to our rules, that I don't
think Warren was a disaster. I believe that the man that played as Warren
did what his character was supposed to do. Warren and Andy just did not
mix near as well as Don Knotts and Andy did. I think Jerry Van Dyke would
have made a great deputy for Andy and they could have played off each
other very well, because Jerry Van Dyke is just a natural comedian
himself. I think he was great as Luther on Coach. I think another good
deputy, but more on the serious note would have been Ken Berry as Andy
and he seemed to mix well whenever their characters interacted on the
show. It would have been interesting to see how Ken would have reacted to
Otis. It would have been funny to see if serious Ken would have sang to
Otis and tell him bedtime stories. I think his serious nature and trying
to appease Otis would have been a "beautiful thing t! o watch". Opie and
Mike seemed to interact and get along so well also and Aunt Bee would
have made a great adopted Aunt for Mike. I could see Ken Berry being a
deputy without a gun and not wearing a hat like Andy and if he did wear a
gun then he could probably have more than one bullet in it and not almost
shoot himself with it and if he did then it would be hilarious. I do know
that Aunt Bee lived with Ken and Mike in Mayberry RFD, so if they would
have been together in TAGS like I mentioned above, then it would have
been a natural carry over to RFD. Anyway, enough goings on for me.
You beat anything, you know that?

For those who have sent emails wanting to know the exact location of First
Redeemer Church, the address is 2135 Old Alpharetta Road, Cumming, GA 30041.
I recommend you go to MapQuest.com and get your map to that location. I have
found that I can't go wrong using those maps. Once you get anywhere close to
the church you can't miss it.
P.S. Yes, they do have very comfortable theater seating.
