I remember Ange telling Opie to "go act like somebody." I used to tell
my daughter that before sending her off to school. One day she told her
grandmother "Dad always tells me to act like somebody, but he never tells me
who."

>>>I was watching the episode where opie takes care of the baby birds.
There was one line in the episode that I could swear Andy said (to aunt
bee): "H_ll of a job Opie's doing with those birds".
If we're thinking of the same scene, it always sounded to me like "He's sure
proud of the job he's doing with those birds." Aunt Bee replies "He's
certainly devoted to them."

>>>I also noticed at the Blockbuster of a movie Ron starred in as a out of
control driver of a fast car but cant
remember the name of it. I'll get back with the title when I return my
current movies.
That must have been either "Eat My Dust" (1976) or "Grand Theft Auto"
(1977). Ron worked out a deal with the producer, in which he agreed to star
in both films if he could direct the second one. Both films earned a lot of
money, and Ron was on his way to becoming one of Hollywood's best directors.

Somebody asked about where ELSE that famous Oval Window might have turned up.
I saw it in an old Dick Van Dyke episode. Funny thing, though, DVDyke show
did not use the same studios, did they?; yet, I saw THAT window! OR.... at least
it looked JUST like it! Seems like once was when they were trying to honeymoon
in Mexico in that horrid hotel , while Rob was still in the service.

Just in my faint recollection of that scene, I am
thnking he said "whale of a job..." but I'd have to see
the scene again. Or, if you really want to know, ask
Barney. Winkin will tell blinkin, he'll tell nod, nod'll
tell Barney and Barney can tell you.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
I'll be performing at the Comedy House theater here in
Columbia tonight through Saturday. :-)

Hi all,
I saw the entry on Andy sayin' a bad word and I had to check it out. I played
it twice and find him saying "Proud of the job he's doing with them birds
ain't he?"
I had a hard time believing that Andy or any of the others said anything like
that, so I had to check it out. bye

None, guess I didn't notice that one. How about "You

Subject: Paul Harvey
Date: Tue, 19 Mar 2002 21:16:23 -0600
Hello everyone!
Once again, the two broadcast entities that I admire most have crossed
paths.....TAGS and Paul Harvey News. I certainly can tell that Paul is a fan
of TAGS, as he has featured an aspect of TAGS on at least one other occasion
in his "the Rest of the Story" feature.
I am curious if anyone can tell me more about the TAGS episode that Paul spoke
about today in his "The Rest of the Story." This is the "gist" of what he
said...
He mentioned that as filming was continuing for this particular TV show, the
stars had finished their parts for the day, and were sitting in the shadows
behind the camera watching as smaller parts were being filmed. A particular
"day player" had just begun to speak his lines, the part of an FBI agent, or
so Paul told us (he explained that a "day player" was a term that referred to
a "non-star" who was "hired by the day" for smaller parts. Anyway, the day
player begun reciting his part, speaking with a loud, confident voice...but as
he continued, his voice began to waver, and he began to speak in less and less
understandable phrases. As the other actors watched, he began to sob, crying
and saying "I'm so sorry..." as though he was speaking to unseen demons in his
head. The camera continued to roll, and everyone sat, spellbound, as the
actor fell to the floor, sobbing. Finally, someone stepped forward comfort
the actor while a doctor was called. The doctor sedated him, and he was taken
away.....a mental breakdown was all anyone was told. Paul Harvey told us
that, in particular, a younger actor named Ronnie was very moved by what he
had seen that day....and that those memories stayed with him as he grew to an
adult. Paul then told us that Ronnie was Ron Howard, playing the part of Opie
that day on the set of the Andy Griffith Show.....and that the memories of
what he saw that day had given him an interest in mental health that partially
led him as he directed the movie "A Beautiful Mind."
Can anyone elaborate on this, or confirm any or all of this story?
Thanks!

pickles in it...."

From: Michael R Ramsey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
I'm in search of the VHS tape and Leader's Guide of TAGS Bible Study
series one. I have found the participants guides, but am having trouble
locating the leaders guide and the accompanying VHS. I have tried E-Bay a
few times, but have had no luck. If any knows where I can locate a copy
of the leaders guide and VHS, please contact me. Thanks!
