I don't have any info really about where you can get copies but I'm *sure* at
least one of our members will be contacting you directly with some info. :-)
I've seen the first 4 episodes and while they're okay...they aren't TAGS
quailty AND it's not Mayberry they're living in.
Here's a link to a great page with information on The NEW Andy Griffith Show.

Regarding the "no worst episodes" comment:
How can it be a true discussion group if no critical comments whatsoever can
be allowed and people can't voice their opinions? I love the show, but no
show is perfect. And people are going to like some episodes better than
others. If all the opinions about everything have to be positive, it is not
a true discussion group. Please allow people a little more freedom to
express their favorite and not so favorite things about the show.
I for one, do also tend to prefer the black and white episodes; that doesn't
mean I don't respect someone who has a different opinion.

Speaking of Keith Thibodeaux playing the part of Johnny Paul, you know Opie
always thought Johnny Paul was a veritable fountain of information and
knowledge. I been thankin' and thankin' and it seems to me that one of my
favorite Andy and Opie scenes was when Opie told his Paw that "if you lick an
indelible pencil, you'll die in a minute and a half." Andy says something like
"Who told you that?" Opie says that's what Johnny Paul told him. Andy says,
"Aw, that's just an old wives tale!" Opie replies, "Johnny Paul ain't married!"

Lots have already written in to say that Keith Thibodeaux (aka Richard
Keith) played both Little Ricky on I Love Lucy and Johnny Paul on TAGS.
Just thought I'd also mention that Keith became a committed Christian after
his acting days in the 1970's and was the drummer for the Christian rock
band "David & The Giants". I believe the band disbanded about 10 years ago.

<<How can it be a true discussion group if no critical comments whatsoever

I'm sorry, Brenda, but those are the rules. They've always been the rules.
I will say that this is a special place, the Digest is, and I'm not saying
anyone can't "voice their opinions" but I am saying that The WBMUTBB Digest
is not the place for them to do so. If they want to voice their opinions
about what they don't like about the show or about characters there are
several places that they can go to do so.
One of them being the WBMUTBB Chapters private (chapter members only)
bulletin board called "The Golden Door to Good Fellowship" located in the
"members only" area of http://www.wbmutbb.com .
I believe I explained pretty well the reason we have the "Rules" here at The
Digest. There are only 2 rules.
#1 Obey all rules
#2 Keep things positive
I always find it funny that being "positive" is considered a bad thing?
Folks tell me this is "censorship" and I've even been told that it's on the
lines of being a Nazi. haha....well, I don't agree.
I believe that just because a person doesn't like something....that doesn't
mean they have a *right* to be able to share their "dislikes/hates". In
Mayberry, people did their best to keep things positive. When the lawyer was
talking about Otis being "the town drunk" Barney replied, "Well, we don't say
it out like that..." They kept their negative comments about the other people
in town to a minimum.
Sure, Andy told Aunt Bee that Barney was a "nut" but he did it in private and
not out on the street corner where it would cause folks to think less of
Barney. The Digest is our online "street corner" and you just can't stand on
our sidewalk and be meanspirited (negative) without Andy Taylor walking up
and asking you to move along for disturbing our peace.
Folks, you got to remember one thing....this is a small town...our town...our
Mayberry, and folks here need to treat each other with respect and try to
make sure we don't say or do something to cause somebody else pain or
sadness.
How hard is it, really, to talk about things your like rather than things you
don't? If your momma ask you, "I'm looking old, ain't I?" what do you say to
her? Are you kind? Do you say what it takes to make her feel good about
herself? I'm betting you're gonna be positive to her. Why would you want to
be any different to your friends here in Mayberry?
I've said a lot more than I started out to say but folks...this is important.
Now, go out and act like somebody.

As you made reference, Clint was Balok in the original series' 1966 episode
"The Corbomite Maneuver.". He also had a small role in a two-part episode of
"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" in 1995, "Past Tense."

good thoughts for Dudley Moore, Milton Berle, and the legendary Billy Wilder.

I've not watched all of the other "TREK series, but according to Clint
Howard, this was his second time as a "TREK" alien. The first was in the
original series (THE CORBAMITE MANEUVER) and then again last night. If you
liked him on "ENTERPRISE" you should send an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
telling them that you would like to see him on the series again. I did.

I had a "Mayberry Moment" in my local post office the
other day. I was waiting in line and looked up to see
a stamp that has been issued with the letters RFD on
it. I looked closer and it had an old Model T looking
poastal vehicle and a postman beside it. In large
letters it said RURAL FREE DELIVERY. Excuse me for
not having my bucket on and doing some real "thankin"
like our buddy Gomer, but I never realized until that
day what RFD stood for. Please don't give me a
"rude", but did everyone else know the meaning of RFD?
I learn something new about the show all the time,
and I must tell all of you I absolutely love it!
I was enjoying the episode the other night where the
Greendale sheriff is retiring and they want Barney for
their new sheriff. In the first part of the episode
where Andy tricks Barney into being excited about
"chalking tires" and Barney runs to the door, I just
about fall in the floor laughing at old Barneys
expressions. When he body slams the door on his way
out of the courthouse, then realizes what Andy really
said, I crack up!!
Another of my favorite episodes is where Andy and Aunt
Bee are sitting on the porch and its very quiet and
peaceful....Andy asks Aunt Bee if she wants him to:
liven things up a bit".... he starts barking and gets
all the neighborhood dogs to joining in. I love Aunt
Bee's reaction. Also when she says; "oh
flibbertigibet" it always reminds me of my own mother
saying things like: "oh fiddlesticks" or "oh
horsefeathers". What a ladylike way to express
themselves, don't you think??
...Briscoe Darling: "of course I was her second
husband
....her first one was run over by a team of hogs....

Richard Keith is listed as portraying Johnny Paul Jason. Is Keith Thibodeaux

COMMENTS:
I am 48 years old and an avid fan of the Andy Griffith show. I can remember
when I was in elementary school I would come home for lunch and watch reruns
of what was then called "Andy of Mayberry" since the night time show was
still a big TV event and the local station could not use the name "The Andy
Griffith Show". I have been a fan ever since. This past summer, I was
pleased to be able to attend the Mayberry Reunion weekend at the Opryland
Hotel where I was able to meet Dave Browning, Allen Newsome plus all the cast
in attendance that weekend. I was able to invite George Lindsey to be my
guest at the 2001 Morgan County Fall Foliage Festival. He accepted and I was
privileged to be his driver/escort during his wee with us in Martinsville,

Some of you may have once again seen Goober's Contest this week. Since
I'm a huge Floyd fan, this has got to be the hardest episode for me to
watch. The way he slurred his words after the second stroke makes me
wonder why this episode gave him more lines that just about any other.
It's been said before, there will never be another quite like Floyd
Lawson.
I know this is a negative about the show, but I expect it won't offend
anyone: Have you noticed how artificial the lighting looks during the
first couple of seasons of the color episodes? It seems like they had a
hard time making scenes look natural after doing sets for black & white
for all those years.
