TAGS Fans,
Fan Ted Schott (I hope I've spelled your name right, Ted) mentioned
trying to picture a computer on Andy's desk. I agree that I can't, but I
can very easily see one on Barney's desk. It just seems like the sort of
Electronal Marvel that would be right up his alley. I'm laughing just
picturing what would happen if Barney got tied into some sort of FBI
database on the 'net.

Don't forget about putting egg whites in your moulage, it makes 'em nice

Hey Everybody!
Since I am about to leave my ministry position and join the Navy, I
thought I'd go out with a "bang" (aka: loaded goat) I have secretly
bought my pastor and minister of music (and myself of course) Andy
Griffith Show ties from Mayberrygifts.com. Since they are TAGS fans too,
I am going to let them pick out which one they want (I got one of each
pattern) and we'll wear them together on my last Sunday worship service
here. Living on the edge in West Tennessee!
Not making a big malage out of it,
Because it's really about Jesus,
Just wanted to share my craziness with ya,

I have to say I would love to meet Andy Griffith. But I can
understand his relunctance to come to Mayberry Days. Unlike other
cast members, that town was actually Andy's hometown and I bet that
Andy merely doesn't like that the town has become a tourist site
about the show. It was inevitable. But he created the all time
best show based on that town and his memories of the folks in it
and I suspect it is just that memory he'd prefer to maintain. I
don't think Andy Griffith is worried about his appearance. Just,
being a modest man, he would not enjoy the intense adulation that
he would find at Mayberry Days.
Don't get me wrong - I would love to see Anj and I will always
go back to the Mt. Airy every September. I'm glad the town has, in
a very tasteful way, set itself up to accomodate fans. It's as
close to Mayberry as you could ever get but I think for Andy
Griffith, he'd prefer the Mt. Airy of the 1930's, that he strolled
through as a kid. That you can see any day, on the show.

Darned if I can remember what we called a shake with
an egg in it, but I've drunk 'em. 'Egg cream' or
'cream egg', I believe.
Used to get 'em at the soda fountain at Weddle's Drug
Store, next door to Nilge's Bakery, in my little part
of Mayberry.
Also, I noticed in today's episode, the 'Carters &
Wakefield's' Andy was packin'. He used the pistol to
start the duel. Only time I can remember Andy shootin'
a gun. Anybody remember other times?

I was watching last night as Barney (Puddin' tame ask me again I'll tell
ya' the same) was in the cell with Doc Malloy. He's wearing a dark suit.
Kinda got me to thinking...in what other episodes can he be seen in dark
colored attire? It makes him look so thin!

Hey folks,
I did not send the message above. It was the VIRUS that I was speaking of
earlier in the week but we're okay because I strip out any attachments from
going out to the Digest. PLEASE take a minute to update and run your virus
scanners on your computer. There are a lot of members here that have the
virus
Again, I'm sorry to be talking about this here but in *this* case I'm a
little worried that members here might be getting e-mails that appear to be
from me and you'd open the file. Don't open ANY attachments without
e-mailing the person that sent it first...just to be sure that they actually
sent the attachment to you.
Thanks and sorry for being off topic.

I hope everybody remembered and reflected on Mayberry's relevance to Earth
Day, which was observed on April 22. Just looking at the opening credits and
seeing Andy and Opie with their fishing poles is testament enough. Any
exterior scene filmed at Franklin Canyon Reservoir makes us appreciate our
Mother Earth. It's sad to think that we might have lost a few trees when
Forty Acres was razed in 1977. In 'Opie the Birdman', when Andy said "But
don't the trees sound nice and full?", I wonder if those trees are left?
