In the episode The Lady Druggist, where Ellie won't sell Emma her pills,
there is a scene where Aunt Bee walks into the courthouse carrying some soup
for Emma. Andy and Barney are sitting at the desk, and Barney's hair is all
messed up. I t would seem that a part was cut out there. I can't for the life
of me remember what it was that caused Barney's hair to get all messed up.
Does anyone remember seeing this part? Thanks, and lots a luck to you and
yours.

I think it was "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs", (does the title count as a triple?), in the
early part of the episode, Otis wakes up in the cell and says "Shoobee,
Shoobee, Shoobee". Andy says "What does that mean" and Otis replies "That's
how my mouth feels" right before he drinks Andy's fixer upper.

Hello:
I don't know how many of you are Lone Ranger fans but on Thursday night's
episode which was first aired in 1954 our sweet Aunt Bee played a horrible and
very crooked citizen who had two nephews doing dirty work for her. At the end
of the show she of course got caught and they showed her in jail. But the
funny part was that the sheriff of the town who put her in jail was named
Sheriff Taylor.

Howdy. My husband asked me to ask anybody WHY Mr. McBeevee was in the tops of
HARDWOOD trees. He was not a telegraph/Western Union lineman. If he was, he
would not have been "tree-toppin'". If he was a pulpwood man, he would have
been down on the ground. If he was a telephone pole man, he SURELY would not
be in TREETOPS !!!! Any wise-ones out there know?

I was thrilled to read about Steve's opportunity to
meet and talk to our beloved Andy. I could only dream
of being so lucky.
I recently read in: "The Andy Griffith Story" book
that Andy prefers not to attend (although he
appreciates everyone who takes part) activities like
"Mayberry Days". He said he does not want to attend
and half do a performance, or as he said in the book
"to aw shucks it". I have to respect that and just
enjoy the digest and all the great things I learn
about it. He has already given all of us so much joy
and pleasure, I don't know if I could keep my
composure if I really got to meet him.
I had a Mayberry Moment this past week. I was driving
down the road, when I had to blink my eyes to see if I
was really seeing what I thought I was seeing!!!
Coming right toward me was a man on a motorcycle, with
a SIDE CAR. He was dressed all in black with a white
helmet. I almost had to pull off the road I laughed
so hard. I wanted to hang my head out of the car and
yell, Hey Barney!!! It truly made my day! That
episode is one of my favorites anyway, what with all
the townspeople getting riled up over Barney's antics
etc...especially when somebody grabs his chalk from
under the parked car!

Hi everyone ..
I was watching an episode of Bonanza the other day .. another show about a
single dad and his boys ... and guess who was one of the guest stars?
It was our own Miss Crump, Aneta Corsaut! She was VERY young, and played the
daughter of a travelling peddler. Adam Cartwright became very interested in
her .... enough to tell his Paw he was going to spend the night in Virginia
City, so he could spend a bit more time with her.
I've never heard anyone mention this particular sighting before. I
recognized her voice before I recognized her face!

Did anyone else notice this?
Does anyone know if this same farm was used again

Just another thing I noticed and started to think

I was watching the 1962 movie "The Manchurian Candidate" last night and in one

along the wall and one of them appears to be Betty Lynn (in the white
sleeveless dress sitting in the decorative chair). Does anyone have the video

Hello to everyone,
TVLand's cutting of scenes is an issue that has been discussed several times
before on the digest, but at risk of being accused of chewing my cabbage
twice, I'll bring it up again. I'm not complaining because I love the
epilogues that we get to see as a result of the cutting, but it just seems
that some of the best and funniest scenes end up getting deleted.
Obviously, the "giraffes are selfish" scene from "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs" is one
of the first that comes to mind, but I wonder if anyone else can tell me
some of the other good scenes that have been cut. A couple of more that I
miss are the scene where Floyd talks about the time Otis got drunk and fell
down the well (Floyd at his best) and the time that Barney makes the mistake
of referring to Helen as a dame (Barney's facial expression when Andy
corrects him is great). Anyone think of anymore?

Hi everyone,
I have a question for the Mayberry experts. It's one I've had every time I
see the episodes where Miss Peggy sings (Down in the Valley) and Eleanor
sings (Away in a Manger) with Andy. Are they really singing or are the
voice-overs? Both voices sound similar to their talking voices.
Thanks for the info!

I was watching the color episode where the church's organ goes bad while
Clara is playing it and they have to replace it. At the beginning of the
episode, Aunt Bee turns around to another woman and acknowledges her hat.
Who is that woman? I've seen her many, many times on TAGS in groups of
people that are milling around. She has never spoken and this is the first
episode where I've seen her singled out. This has been driving me crazy --
was she related to Andy in real life?

Anyone catch the TV Guide "50 Greatest Shows of All Time" list? There's a
lot of controversy over "Seinfeld" being named #1 over "I Love Lucy" or "All
in the Family," but what I thought was interesting is that our beloved TAGS
was ranked (by impartial experts) at #9--still well ahead of such classics as
"The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Cheers" and "Hill Street Blues." Guess there's
still something to be said for the good folks of Mayberry!

I watched the cow thief episode lasy night and consider it a classic. When
Andy asks where the footprints made by the cow are, the reaction from
Upchurch, the Mayor (the great Parley Baer) and Barney is a classic. When
Andy looks at Barney and says, "Remember, Barn, the 'Big Freeze,'" Barney
looks clueless. This comes after Barney calls Upchurch an interloper, says
he won't work with him and then goes ga-ga when Upchurch starts talking
about the case.
Did the man who played Tate Fletcher also play Parnell Rigsbee in the
episode where Opie found the purse with $50 in it? If so, who is he and
what is his pedigree?
Best of luck to you and yours.

This morning I saw character actress Reta Shaw on an episode of 'The Lucy
Show.' It aired on WUSA Channel 9 Washington D.C. This episode is entitled
'My Fair Lucy' and originally aired on February 8, 1965. The TAGS episode 'My
Fair Ernest T. Bass' aired a full year earlier on February 3, 1964.
As you all know, Reta appeared on TAGS as Big Maude Tyler on
'Convicts-at-Large' and as Miss Eleanora Poultice on 'The Song Festers.'
Miss Poultice's former pupil was Leonard Blush. Leonard Blush was voiced by
Howard Morris in the Morris directed 'Barney's Bloodhound.'
Lucy keeps calling Reta's character "fat lady" in the Lucy episode.
