Hey I thought to celibate Mothers Day, it would be fun to remember "mother"
references in TAGS. With the help of our Digest Archives, Here is a partial
list,

Andy to Barney talking about Fluffy the cat "You know how you'd feel if you
saw your mother up on the roof"

Gomer, talking about Goober "He said he wouldn't put his Mama in a dirty
car"

Andy to Barney after septic tank story "You're a fine son Barn".

Opie to Andy "Is that the kind of Love that you and Ma had?"
Andy to Opie "it sure was son, it sure was"

Barney skipping rope "My mother your mother lives across the way Every
night they'd have a fight & this is what they'd say. Nickerbocker Soda
cracker, nickerbocker
boo, my mother says out goes you"

Lady motorist being frisked by Barney "but Barney I'm your mother!"

Otis singing while tipsy "I'm sorrrry I broke yer heart Mother!"

Barney "I just don't like people wearin' my hat, my mother was the same
way"

Ernest T Bass affectionately to Helen "You're my mother figure!"

Barney "You keep my mother out of this"

"Yes Mother" spoken by Howard Sprague many times. He truly respected his
mother, and wouldn't even walk through the house with his shoes off.

>>>> I too get tired of the constant bickering and concerns with offending
people.<<<
I think we've heard just about enough about that tomato!

In today's paper, I was surprised to see Ron Howard's name in the same
paragraph as Playboy magazine. (Guess he's figured out what you can do with
a grown women after all) Actually his film company, Imagine Entertainment
just bought the rights to articles that have been published in Playboy. So
maybe Barney was right, out there in the dump when Andy found his girlie
magazine and he said "There are some good articles in there written by some
very famous authors"

Happy Mom's Day to all Mothers, Grandmothers, and of course, loving Aunts.

In the episode where Barney gives the Governor a parking ticket, in one
scene Andy tells barney the Governor is coming to shake his hand. It sou=

I try to remember this when I'm reading posts. I also try to remember that
often
on this list and other lists, new people don't know what we've discussed before,
so we will definitely see questions come up again and again. That has often
happened on other lists I'm on, so let's be nice and sit down and share some
kerosene cucumbers and have a nice day in cyberMayberry. If we tell the sisters
that it is Sir Walter Raleigh Landing Day they might sell us some elixir! :)

P.S. One of my favorite "repetitous" sayings of Andy is "Gluttons, gluttons,
gluttons!" Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this about the fact that they
had
eaten all of those lovely kerosene cucumbers that Aunt Bee made?

Thanks Paul, for the list of Hawthorne buildings and accessories.
The building you omitted is the Mayberry Church. I have all of the buildings
except Mrs. Mendelbright's (or is that Mrs. Brendlmight's?) Boarding House.

Paul,
You listed 9 buildings. I have 10 in my collection. The only building you
didn't list was the church.
My Mom purchased the whole set when it first came out and I received 1 piece
at a time for several years (birthdays, Christmas, etc...)
What a great Mom!(think I'll keep her) Happy Mother's Day!

Subject: TAGS Episodes (Want to Trade or Buy)

Hey Folks,

I realize what I'm about to ask is a huge undertaking so I apologize in
advance.
I'm looking for someone out there who has all 249 TAGS episodes (It'd be
nice if they were in order, but that's not necessarily a requirement) who
would be willing to copy a set of their tapes for me.

I've taped most if not all of the B&W ones over the years but from
constant use many of my tapes have degraded down and are in bad shape now,
too far gone to copy over to other tapes. I started taping some new ones
off of TV Land last year and was shocked recently to find even those tapes
had unfixable tracking problems as well (I had a VCR on its last legs when
I recorded them but didn't know it until later). Complicating matters I've
got a friend who recently asked me if I could provide them with a set of
all the episodes (she's an English teacher trying to find uses for Andy, I
Love Lucy and similar shows in the classroom) but I'm kind of stuck because
I don't have a complete set of even the B&W ones that is viewable anymore.

It'd take forever to tape them all again in order, so I was hoping I could
find someone out there willing to make copies of their episodes for
me. I'll be happy to send tapes, compensate you for your time, or trade
anything from any other series I've got on video (I do have all of
Mayberrry R.F.D) if somebody out there can help.

Thanks in advance...

I wholeheartedly agree. This board is getting dragged down by people's
feelings about life around them. This forum is about your positive
comments about TAGS. Whether Rafe Hollister said "hell" or not is on
topic, but everyone is at the sensitivity point of editing that word
when they post here. I personally don't care if some out there don't
like sex and violence in the media. It's not TAGS related, period! And
whether TAGS is rated #9 or #49, if it's #1 in your heart, that's all
that matters, right? And personally, unless you are 60 years old or
more, voting for what is the best of all time cannot be accurate unless
you have seen everything on TV to make a fair comparison.
Having TAGS in my life has been such a pleasure, but so has Seinfeld.
So if you don't like Seinfeld, or Chris Rock, or any of the other unholy
facets of the media, please state your displeasure on another board.

Back in 1990, Allan Newsome, myself and some others were talking about
TAGS episodes, asking trivia questions and posting quotes. It was fun.
If I'm off base with my thoughts here, just say the word Allan, and I
will gracefully depart.

-Bob

Subject: Questions already asked

With new people joining our neighborhood all the time, we are bound to
get questions that have already been asked. I'm delighted when someone
new submits a question. We don't want our new neighbors to be afraid to
submit an entry, so those who have been on for a long time will
hopefully be more patient, & understanding. Like the modern generation
would probably put it, chill out when they read an often asked question
Just my 2 cents worth.
