At the end of last year, I started thinking that next
July, It'll be FIVE Years since I started my first job
(which I still have), and 'bout two years ago, I got a
second job. But, anyway, since It's been almost FIVE
Years, I thought 'bout Barn and the engraved "FIVE" on
the back of the watch that Andy gave him. But, also I
thought 'bout him bein' too short and not heavy
enough, and I'm just lucky that Both my jobs don't
have any height or weight requirements. Jeff Doege

I have a few of the buildings. Do you know where I can get more of them?
Thanks, Debbie B.

I also have most of the pieces of the Mayberry village. I'm so glad I've
hung on to it. Last year, I saw the pieces of Barney & his motorcycle sell
for over $300 on eBay. I was more financially embarrassed than usual at the
time and almost listed some of my MV pieces to sell. I came to my senses
and sold my children instead (only kidding). Collecting TAGS items has
been so much fun these past years. I think all of the really old memorabilia
must be securly in the hands of AG fans because I rarely see anything from
the 60s for sale anywhere and I'm always searching. Emmett Forest's
collection is awesome. If you've not seen it - don't miss it whenever you
visit Mt. Airy.
Goober Linda - I can't do William Holden - he talks like everybody else.

>>>[In addition to "Howard the Bowler" and "Goober and the Art of Love"] are
there any other episodes with bowling referenced?

Jeff (aka Dinger)

"Howard the Bowler" is the only episode in which we actually see a bowling
alley, but the sport is mentioned a couple of other times. In "Barney and
the Cave Rescue" Gomer asks Sarah (on the phone) if her mother has recovered
from a fall she suffered at the bowling alley, and in "Opie's Girlfriend"
Andy is upset that Helen has recently beaten him at bowling. Bowling balls
can also be seen in Weaver's department store in "The Shoplifters."

I think Lydia was invited by Andy, Helen, Barney, Thelma Lou and Goober to go
bowling, but she couldn't because she'd throw her back out. (Besides, who'd
want to go bowling anyway, all they do is serve pretzels and they lay on you so
heavy when you eat them. Just a little Mayberry joke!!) I really like to go
bowling with the class of preschoolers I
have. They put those bumper things in the gutters so you can't make a gutter
ball and they give the kids who can't pick up those heavy balls a ramp to roll
the ball down. You can't mess up! One of our kids made a strike last year!
(I think I could be in a bowling league if I could use that cool equipment! :)

Y'all have a Mayberry day...Lisa

Gomer: "What time's the gold truck comin' through?"
Andy: "Barney!!!"
Barney: "Well he's a deputy! He had to know!"
Andy: "I told you not to tell it!"
Gomer: "Barney didn't tell me. I got it from Laura Lee Hobbs up at the dime
store."
Andy: "Laura Lee Hobbs?!! ...Yeah, it looks like it leaked out all right."
Barney: "Well who can ya trust these days? Who can ya trust?!"
Andy: "You tell me."
Barney: "Well not Gomer! That's for sure! ...Andy, this ain't good! This
thing's got outta' control! You better call it off!"
Andy: "I can't call it off!"
Barney: "Well you better phone the men or the President or somebody and tell
'em to stop that truck!"
Andy: "They can't stop it. It already left. ...Somewhere between here and
Denver there's seven million dollars headed for Mayberry ...and you and me
and Gomer and Laura Lee Hobbs -WE'RE gonna be here to receive it!"

Subject: A Day With TAGS
Date: Thu, 16 May 2002 01:09:51 -0400

I am a teacher, and next Friday is the last day of school for teachers
(Thursday is the last for students). Anyway, I have decided to make it a TAGS
day, because A day without TAGS is a day without sunshine! Since only
teachers will be there, some of us are planning to bring covered dishes and
TAGS tapes to celebrate the last day of school. Of course, The Education of
Ernest T. will be one of the featured episodes!
Since there is always lots of paperwork to complete the last day of
school, some of us have been working late to complete it so we can dedicate
our day to TAGS, and people who aren't fans of the show can't seem to relate.
They think we are crazy to work so hard just to watch a show. I thought my
neighbors here would be able to relate, and as I always tell my students, If
you get your work done now, you can relax later!

Sherrie
I want to do my sentences!
