I am an elementary school principal....knockin' on the door of retirement.
A few years ago the Ft. Worth Star Telegram sent a reporter out here and
did a story on yours truly. After a while the reporter said...."This
place reminds me of Mayberry!" Man...did I ever feel great! You
see...that's how I like to "run things" here at my school. And for a
newspaper reporter to "pick up" on it....that was just great! He wrote a
nice article about the school.....and compared it to TAGS. It was about
the best present a guy could get!

I sent a copy to my mom.....she was proud. Anyway...to all of you folks
out there "in charge" of something. Try "runnin' things" not so much "by
the book.....but from the heart!"

>From Mayberrry in Grapevine....this is PJ...saying.......lots of luck to
you and yours!

It's been quite some time since I watched it, but doesn't "Aunt Bee's Big
Moment" open with the boys returning from a bowling night?

Hi Folks,

I was just watching a tape of the Mayberry 30 year reunion that someone
kindly gave to me. There was a man in the audience who did an incredible
impersonation of Ernest T. Bass. I was just wondering if that person
subscribes to this digest. If so, I wanted to let him know that I was very
impressed!! That was great!

Some people in your school need to get their priorities straight. You are
ending the school year in the grandest fashion possible ... feet up on your
desks and watching TAGS.

 You make us proud!

Remember Jeff, they were charging by the letter. I do believe they
engraved "5" on the back of that water resistant stainless steel marvel
of a presentation watch.

That's not fair! I'm a teacher, too, and we still have 13 days for the
students to come, then at least one more day for the teachers past that! Boy,
I'd fuss more about this if it wouldn't break a rule! :) But I absolutely LOVE
the idea of a TAGS day at school, and I might bring it up to our school, too.
We usually have a dinner anyway, so having a
showing of TAGS with it would be great! I know some of our teachers would love
it too! :) Thanks for the idea... Lisa

Subject: GOLD TRUCK EPISODE
Date: Thu, 16 May 2002 20:23:56 -0700

Hello Everyone,
Allan's quote of the day about the Gold Truck episode reminded me of a
question I had asked a month or so ago.
I didn't get any answers. I don't know if anyone knows or not but please
allow me to ask it again. In that episode when Barney comes out of the motel,
he has a raincoat or overcoat on. Right before he goes outside the motel the
coat is dry, but when he gets outside it looks like something splashed on his
coat because it is now wet. It seems like a scene is missing. Anybody know?

"Kissin'!!!!"

Hey all,

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm still in my hurry mode in life and usually get
to just quickly skim the Mayberry comments so you all may have been talking
about this, but it's new to me. Anyway, today was my birthday and one of my
gifts was the book "I'm Proud To Call You My Friend" by Ken Beck & Jim
Clark.
I was extra surprised since I didn't even know this book existed. It's a
very sweet book and has lots of good things in it. What a treat!
Mayberry always does add a little something extra to a special occasion.

Lots of luck to you and yours,
Vicki Pillow
