I don't really know why anyone would worry about how "Aunt Bee" would spell
her name, but here's something else to stir things up. While Frances Bavier
was living, she ALWAYS signed her fan mail like this, "Frances Bavier, Aunt
Bea of The Andy Griffith Show." She always wrote "Bea" so if you have an
autograph that is spelled "BEE" you have a fake.

That might work in the mountains but in Mayberry, you gotta get Neal Bentley
from Mt. Pilot - he's got a really good suit (a little pun there).

HI all,
I have this episode on a bought tape which is uncut, but there is no scene
before the courthouse scene. It starts out in the courhouse with Barney
telling Ange about him buying a car. Sounds like you got yourself a gem!
God Bless

In all autographed photos I've seen of Frances Bavier, she added "Aunt Bea."
not
spelling it "Bee" as we came to know her. This has aroused suspicions among
collectors that Bavier's signature is not authentic even though it compared
favorably
to authentic sources.
Cast members portray Bavier as a very proper lady, so it might be that she
accepted only the more proper spelling, "Bea." Was she ever quoted about her
spelling of the character's name? Has anyone ever seen her signature signed
"Bee"? Whadayathink?

I swear this really happened. My mother was having a yard sale today06/1/02 I
was watching it for her while she had an errand to run. A man came while i was
there he asked me what something was it was made from glass i told him i had
no idea what it was. He said well its just 50 cents I'll buy it. Just like
what happened in the save the Scolby house fund.

In the color episode when sam is waiting for his friend from Italy, there is
a sign outside of the train depot. On it is the population. I cannot
remember the exact amount but it is just over 5,000.

If I remember it right if you can find the Consumer price index for the two
years, 196?, then the index for 2002, then divide the 50 dollars by the 2002
CPI. This should give you the comparable amount now. Just thought I would
try too help. Hope this is right..

I just wanted to wish Andy Griffith a very Happy Birthday.
I have a question who drew the drawings (paintings) at the beginning and
ending of each episode?
These are the little rural scenes, then later on they were scenes of the
town.
Also Dan Goodwin is correct about the 'Burns and Allen' T.V. show having
the Carnation commercials
written into the shows. I have a tape of the show with the commercials in
them and they are very funny.
(Allan please don't give me a rude for this comment.)
