Okay folks, get your thinking buckets on for this one.

Who REALLY said, "Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does
anything about it?"

>>>Hey Paul, I think you also stumped us on the "Andy's 10 hats" question a
while back.

I guess I never did post an official answer. For you new folks in town, the
idea was to name every type of headwear worn by Sheriff Taylor. Here we go
(not in order):

1. Sheriff's uniform cap in "Andy's English Valet"
2. Fez in "The Lodge"
3. Band uniform hat in "The Mayberry Band"
4. Funny fishing hat in "The Inspector"
5. Umpire's cap in "The Ball Game"
6. Old-fashioned nightcap in "A Feud is a Feud"
7. Barney's helmet in "Barney's Sidecar" (Don't wear my hat, Ange)
8. Indian head-dress in "The Clubmen"
9. Straw boater in "The Barbershop Quartet"
10. Sombrero in "A Trip to Mexico"

There's a picture of Andy and Bert Miller wearing cowboy hats on page 193 of
The Official Andy Griffith Show Scrapbook, but that was a publicity shot so
it doesn't count. The scene didn't appear in the episode ("The Merchant of
Mayberry.")

Dear Goobalong:

Don't underestimate yourself or your fellow Mayberrians about your ability to
follow mathematical reasoning. Remember the episode, "Politics Begin at
Home"? Howard wowed the audience with his cipherin' of interest rates and
depreciation calculations so much that it even persuaded Aunt Bea to cede the
councilman's race to him. If the good folks in that audience could
appreciate Howard's logic, then the rest of us can't be too far behind in our
understanding.

Jack:

I think the $51,759 amount for Floyd's income expressed in today's dollars
sounds reasonable. I've prepared the tax returns and financial statements
for a few barbers (not hair stylists) over the years, and your estimate is in
line with their incomes. In fact, a couple of them have exceeded your amount
by handsome sums. But of course, they had three chair shops.

Forget about the fictional Frank Myers and his bond. What if the REAL Frank
Myers,TAGS production manager, had in his possession some authentic props
from the show? If he decided to keep some of those props, today they would
probably be worth as much as that appreciated "fictional" bond. For example,
how much do you think someone would pay for that blue willow china set that
the Taylors ate their meals on?

Clean your plate and you can have some more.
