I am the first to admit I do not live in the 'real
world'. That's because I take EVERY oppurtunity to
feel a little better when I have a Mayberry moment. I
was born cold, wet & hungy and then it got bad. So
Ange, Barn, Ernest T. and all my friends in 'my' real
world of Mayberry make my day better.

Thanks to all of you who wrote me on the list and privately about the epilogue
to this episode. As you described the events, I can easily imagine how the
various people played their parts and it certainly makes for a much more
satisfying ending. Poor Barney...
the best laid plans...etc.

On Monday, August 12 at 12:30 p.m. EST , the SCI-FI channel aired 'The
Twilight Zone' episode "You Drive." It starred Edward Andrews as a man who
struck a paper boy on his bike with his car. It's a hit and run and this man
is immediately haunted by it. In the middle of the night, he is awaken by
what he thinks are noisy neighbors. He opens his bedroom window and yells out
"PIPE DOWN!" , the expression made famous by Barney Fife. In a cross
examination of shows, I believe Barney makes a reference to 'The Twilight
Zone' on TAGS.
Edward Andrews later went on to portray the lecturer in the TAGS eighth
season episode "Aunt Bee and the Lecturer." It alls comes full circle when
Mr. Andrews co-stars in the Don Knotts film 'How to Frame a Figg" in 1970 as
one of the men trying to frame Hollis Figg.
