How about Clarence Earp and "The man who can fight is the man who is
right...." Some of the boys got in a fight in this episode, and Andy was
challenged to a dual. And there was the time Jerry Miller got in a fight at
the carnival, too..........

"Strong rumour has it here in NC that Andy may actually make an appearance
in
Mt. Airy next month for Mayberry Days. Has anyone heard anything to support
that scuttlebutt?

Kevin, I know that Andy will possibly attend the dedication of the Andy
Griffith Parkway (US 52) in Mt Airy on Oct 16, but nothing other than that.
Looking forward to seeing everyone Sept. 26-29 at Mayberry Days!

Howdy. Does ANY body know when the black and whites are returning?
(I'm getting tired of watching "wheel of fortune" during supper!)
ALSO, did HOWARD have any other romantic interests with women on the show
besides the FUNNY and S A D episode where he almost marries?
 Thanks for those two answers.

Hey Everybody,

The other day I saw a episode where this couple was turned in for
disturbing the peace because of yelling and screaming at each other and
throwing dishes. Andy made them learn how to talk to each other nicer
like calling each other dear and honey. The couple accomplished that, but
got nasty at other people in Mayberry. One man got punched in the nose
and another got a pitcher of water threw on him. Mr. Foley and Floyd's
past run in got brought back up when big Barn would not let the case die
and alot of people took sides and got punched in the nose. Thelma Lou
punched Barney in the nose one time. There was also a couple of episodes
where Barney and Andy got shot at. Andy got a black eye at the Tip Top
Cafe when Barney set them up with the Fun Girls. Opie got a shiner in one
of his scrapes with a bully. In a later episode, Helen's niece gave Opie
a black eye. Howard got punched in the stomach when he was telling a guy
to leave Millie alone. I can't think of anymo! re. Shazam, there was alot
of nose punching and black eyes in Mayberry.

More Power to Ya,

Rodney Jackson, Siloam Springs Arkansas

I aint saying nothing, but nobody else posted about this. Our favorite
lawman was mentioned in the "Ask Dr. Science" list last week - here it
is:

>Dear Doctor Science,
>Does anything move slower than Andy Griffith? If so, does this not
>violate Einstein's theory of Special Relativity?
>
>-- GrandMoff from Coruscant, New Republic
>
>Aunt Bea's scurrying around is actually not real movement, because it
>has no continuous vector. It's scintillation. Barney rushes in random
>directions, alternating with moments of profound rest, where he
>approximates Otis, the town drunk. Both provide Andy with a reference
>point for his deliberate, if agonizingly slow, movements toward plot
>resolution, which always occur exactly twenty two and half minutes into
>the half hour segment, just before the last commercial.

A reminder that David Browning will be at the Greenville (SC) Braves minor
league baseball game this Saturday. Game time is 7:15. If you are there come
to Section E where there will be a large contingent of David
Browning/TAGS/WBMUTBB fans. It will be great fun.

To Kevin and Dawn Roberts who were asking about Don Knotts at N. Myrtle Beach
in October, there will be several WBMUTBB fans there. We look forward to
meeting as many fans as possible, so let us know when and where and we will
meet up.

Can you name 2 times Aunt Bee brought lemonade and Andy never got any?

First, Aunt Bee brought some to Mr. Wheeler thinking he had been up on the
roof when it had been Andy doing all the work. Second, she did intend to
get some to Andy when he was sick in bed, but Goober guzzled it as soon as
she stepped in the door.

Hey I lived in Mooresville NC in 1980's. Out on Lake Norman ( before it
became " High Cotton")
Loved it . Cale Yarborough was a neighbor.
My kids went to Mt. Mourne school while I was at Davidson.
I just loved the area at that time. It was like Mayberry. I have been back
once and it had really grown. Used to get the best ice cream . there
I just justed hated to leave but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. .
Thanks everyone for help me with the DORIS
PACKER mystery. I just could not think of that ladies name.... I am a newbie
and don"t know all the rules yet.. except ... OBEY ALL RULES.

Howdy,

For months, I've been reading (with just a touch of jealousy) of Mayberry
encounters. I longed to be at Mayberry Days, Mayberry in the Midwest, the
Howard Morris/Betty Lynn play in Mt. Airy...

Finally my day came! A few months ago, I asked this board whether there were
any Mayberry related events in the northeast (being originally from the
South, I just can't bring myself to spell that word with a capital letter).
David Browning wrote and said that he would be at a Lakewood Blue Claws
baseball game. When I got the dates, I arranged for a couple of days off and
bought tickets to the game. My fiancee, just returned to the United States,
is new to Mayberry, but knows that I'm a Mayberry nut. Well, now she's a fan
(she won't admit it just yet, but I can tell). Barney (Mr. Browning) won her
over. For her, he WAS Barney. Even today, two days later, she is still
comparing him to Don Knotts on the shows. "He looks just like him. He walks
just like him. Look at his mouth! Look at his face!" So, now she's hooked.

As for Mr. Browning, he was great. I have been reading about him for a
while, but couldn't realize how well he has nailed Barney's character until
actually seeing him perform. He graciously signed three autographs for us
(one for my Dad, who is also a Mayberry nut), posed for several pictures, and
even dusted off his bullet. It was a perfect night for baseball and for
Mayberry. I hope, now, that I can convince my future wife to attend more
Mayberry events. Now, it might be difficult to keep her AWAY from them.

Mr. Browning, if you read this, thanks for your time and your patience. New
Jersey ain't like home, but for one night it wasn't too bad. We had a great
time and hope you will come back our way soon.

Take care all,
...Alan (I came to fill my vase!)

My daughter went back to school this past Tuesday. Of course I sent her off
with a hearty "Act like somebody!" Her reply was "Abyssinia!" I was so
proud!

In regards to the rumor about Ange appearing at Mt. Airy days - lets all go
to his house and knock on the door and ask him.

Just kidding...
