Can we settle this once and for all and move on to other things?

[TABLE NOT SHOWN] New Orleans resident Kristi Trentecosta, a Coke person,
is one of those who might look askance at people who say pop, a term she
says is creepy.
Its kind of dorky. Its kind of like a gee wilikers, she
said. Its just one of those things that always sounded odd to me. Im
sure theres no good reason for it.
Logic has little to do with a persons position on the pop-soda
spectrum, Vaux said.
A kid hearing pop growing up in Ohio doesnt think, Hmm, that
isnt sufficiently logical for me. Im not going to use it, Vaux said.
They just use whatever they hear.

It takes a donation of $100 to sponsor a memorial seat for someone in the
Andy Griffith Playhouse. I ran this by Allan so it is approved by the big man
hisself.
I will be taking a collection at Mayberry Days, at the Playhouse, so all
members and non members may make a donation to place a plaque on a seat in
memory of Melvin Slaydon. If there are those who do not know who he is,
Melvin was the fiddle player who passed away just after Mayberry Days 2000.
He always won the "trophy" at Col. Tim's Talent Time as his reward for being
a part of the show. All who have attended remember without doubt his
rendition of "Cacklin' Chicken", and to tell the truth, I miss him!!
So when you see me with a box, asking for just a dollar to sponsor a seat for
Melvin, you will know who he is and why I am doing this.
All who agree please donate by sticking a dollar in the box, and those who
don't like the idea just pass on by! Only a Dollar.....goodness, a soda don't
cost but a dollar!!!

Caught an episode of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" this morning on TVLand and saw
Jackie Joseph (Ernest T.'s "Romeena"). She was a night club entertainer who
used poetry in her act. She quoted one of Barney's favorite lines -- "The
quality of mercy is not strained." Barbara Stuart was also on the show as a
night club entertainer. On TAGS, she was part of the fake TV crew who really
wanted to rob the bank and, of course, was Bunny on "Gomer Pyle, USMC." A
two-for-one sighting with a great quote on the side!

I have not posted on here in a very long time but
thought this was worth sharing. This may be old news
to many, but my family and I rode by "Aunt Bee's" last
home in Siler City yesterday!!! Talked to two ladies
who were her neighbors and learned a lot. They were
all in a garden club together. It was neat to see!!!

Subject: Mayberry Days Parade
Date: Sat, 14 Sep 2002 15:00:03 -0400

The Surry Arts Council would like you to be a part of the Mayberry Days Parade
this year. If you or your TAGSRWC chapter are interested in walking/riding in
the parade this year, please email them at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and let them
know you would like to participate. The only thing to do after that is to be
at the parade staging area in the BB&T parking lot at the corner of Rawley
Street and N. Main Street at 8:00 am on Saturday, September 28th.

Some of the fan participation in previous parades includes, driving squad
cars, TAGSRWC chapters in uniforms and passing out candy (not heaving it),
driving classic cars, and dressing in character related costumes (Mrs.
McBeevee was a classic!) or holding Mayberry signs. If you have a good
Mayberry idea for the parade and want to share it with the 1000's who line
Main Street on Saturday morning, do it! Just do it!

We know at times camera shots of passengers in cars are filmed without a
windshield. This is done to keep the glass from distorting the picture or
causing reflections. I just noticed that I believe Barney's motorcycle
goggles also have no glass. His eyes appear clearly through the lenses, as
if there is no glass.

There is a glass shop near my house, but for some reason they have had a
couple of different motorcycles with side-cars for sales there. I thought
about buyin one, but I would probably just end up donating it to the local
armory.

Just saw a Happy Days episode where Jack Dodson (Howard Sprague) plays Ralph
Malph's father. I had forgotten how funny he was in that.

This message is dedicated to those great Mayberry war heroes..Bert, Al
Stevens, The Milo boys.

alphabetical listings of the episodes. They will be so helpful to me when I'm
searching for an episode number. A Mayberry tip of the hat to both of you!

Subject: Looking for old "Bullet" Newsletters- Please Help

Hey Folks,

I've been trying to complete my collection of "The Bullet" back issues over
the past several months and despite doing some trading with others and
buying the issues from TAGSRWC's headquarters I'm still missing quite a
few. If you've got any of these issues I'm missing PLEASE contact
me. I'll accept either originals or photocopies, and I promise I'll make
it worth your time & effort. I'll even be willing to give a copy of my
Return to Mayberry DVD to anyone who can help me out. These are the issues
I'm missing:

Volume 1, No. 1 TO Volume 6, Number 2 (ALL ISSUES MISSING)

I've got all of 'em except those 16 or so, so if anybody needs others I'll
do my best to repay the favor if the issues you need aren't still available
through TAGSRWC.

Please drop me a line if you've got any of these. I'll be happy to pay all
the copying & postage costs, etc if anybody out there can help me out.

Chad Palmer
