Abyssinia - what episode was this in? I want to find it and watch it. I am
so jealous of you who went ot Mayberry days. Why did I think it was on the
16th of October? I might could have talked my husband into going had I known
it was on a weekend! Next time I'll pay more attention.

Subject: Don Knotts on DVD

Hey guys,
Just got back from another fun Mayberry Days. Lots of food, friends and
festivities. Just saw some exciting news on Amazon.com/Borders.com. The
classic Don Knotts film, The Incredible Mr. Limpet is being released on
DVD on Oct. 1. It is being sold retail for $24.95 (Amazon will have it
for $19). Here are some of the technical aspects of the release:

    * Encoding: Region 1 (US and Canada only)
    * Format: Animated, Color, Closed-captioned
    * Rated: NR
    * Studio: Warner Home Video
    * DVD Features:
          * Theatrical trailer(s)
          * New introduction by Don Knotts
          * Original behind-the-scenes featurette
          * Henry Limpet's Fishtank set-top game
          * "Operation Limpet" DVD-ROM action adventure game
          * Full-screen and widescreen anamorphic formats
    * ASIN: B00006JMSL

Finally, we can watch the widescreen version and see the whole glorious
picture--as it was meant to be and as it has only been seen in movie
theaters (unless it was on laserdisc). Now, let's all buy it and hope
they follow up with "Ghost & Mr. Chicken." "The Love God," and "Shakiest
Gun In The West" on DVD soon.

Cheers,
Phil Bowling

PS A special thanks to my "Fun Girls" from Indiana who bought me
breakfast and shared a table Saturday at the Snappy Lunch! That's
Mayberry hospitality.

Happy Monday to everyone who went to Mayberry Days. I bet it was great fun
and I wish to high heck we'd been able to go. Please don't be shy about
describing all the fun for those of us who couldn't make it there.

Here's hoping everyone experienced "happy motoring!"

Thank ya, Thank ya, Thank ya!!! To everyone who is writing in with news about
Mayberry Days. I could almost close my eyes and be right there with you. I
sure was glad to hear it didn't rain the entire weekend, I was afraid it might.
 I can just imagine how thrilled everyone was to meet Thelma Lou/Betty Lynn.
Back in July at Mayberry in the Midwest when I met her and got her autograph
and my picture made with her... well let me tell you it was BIG....I mean
really BIG....

I'm sure that our Allan and David Browning were there usual hilarious selves.
What a thrill it must have been for all of you! Please keep on sharing your
experiences with those of us who didn't make it this year, I just love to read
all of them.

Hey folks,

I've got another Barney Fife Wheaties box for sale on eBay. Here's the URL:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=718665489

If that doesn't work, just go to eBay and browse for "Barney Fife cereal
box." BTW, my eBay name is squadcar.
