Thanks Paul and Checkpoint Chickee for those vivid explanations of Floyd's
appearance in Family Visit. You answered my question very well. I hope to
see that cut some day.

>>P.S. I just learned something else: Abyssinia is a kingdom in Africa.
You learn something new every day.

You've been reading the Geographic in the Barbershop, haven't you Mark?.

AB-O, it was when he hurt his back and Andy had to give him those
massages...Down and Around, Down and Around. Opie was shirtless in "Bargain
Day" when he came out on the back porch to hear and see the freezer with
Aunt Bee and Andy. I may have come up with another answer. I remember Andy
put on trunks when he was with that "grim" Lee Drake lawyer. Was he shown
shirtless then around her pool? I guess Lee herself would qualify for one
of the few ladies who bared her shoulders, in the swimsuit. Any others?

Yep, she's a girl alright, that's not a boy

I've heard a lot of people talk about the Andy Griffith DVD's from columbia
house, but I went to their website and couldn't find anything on TAGS.
Does
anyone have a link to where I need to go? Do they tell you which episodes
you will be getting?

I've got 2 VHS tapes full of Andy Griffith episodes (29 episodes) that I
have doubles of.
I don't want to tape over them, so if anyone wants them for Free, just
email me and let
me know. All I ask is to cover Shipping costs and tape replacement cost.

Scripters Everett Greenbaum and Jim Fritzell's TAGS use of "abyssinia" is
indeed a take on "I'll be seeing you."

They used it a few times in their "M*A*S*H" scripts as well. A couple times,
Henry Blake ended phone conversations with "abyssinia." And most notably,
their script for McLean Stevenson's farewell episode was titled "Abyssinia,
Henry."

Thanks SOOOO much for all of the Mayberry Days stories. For those of us who
could not go, we can only live it through the stories of those who did. Living
in Arizona, I am not sure I will EVER get the chance to go! Keep the great
stories coming!!!

Mayberry Days was wonderful this year. With the
attendance of Harvey Bullock and his participation in
Neal Brower's lecture, the weekend looked to be
spectacular. Friday's Doug Dillard concert was the
Cats. Along with Doug Dillard and Maggie Peterson,
James Best, Harvey Bullock, and Betty Lynn made an
appearance. What made it all the better for me was
the fact that Harvey and James sat right across the
aisle from me near the front. Betty came in later and
sat down on the front row. Then when the first
intermission came, Betty Lynn got up to go backstage
and I was there to help her up the steps. I felt
like Barney after shaking hands with the governor
(bless his heart). Friday's rain dampened everyone's
spirits, but by Saturday morn's parade, everyone was
ready for some Mayberry action. The rest of the days'
activities proved up to par with MD in years past.

Hi to all our great Mayberry friends. What a wonderful week-end. We arrived
in Mt. Airy on Sunday evening and spent the whole week there. It was so good
to see all of our Mayberry friends. I have several things that was
outstanding for myself and Troy. The first thing, Pat Coleman and I got to
take Ms. Betty Lynn shopping, the only thing with that was, everyone wanted
their picture taken with Ms. Betty or her autograph, nobody wanted mine and
Pat's, but that was Ok. Then we re-gained our Bullet golf award this year
(you all know it's actually 4th. place). But the best part was when I signed
(sign language) to Harvey Bullock at the Proclamation, when Michael Hoover
sang the Trilogy song, and Mr. Bullock had tears in his eyes, afterwards he
hugged me and kissed my check and his wife told me later on that meant so much
to him, for those that don't know this, he has a deaf sister and he knows sign
language. Then we got to go to a cook out at the home place of Andy Griffith,
what a great evening that was. But I guess my favorite thing I got to do was
the parade, yeah for those of you at the parade, that was me in the motorcycle
sidecar, what a hoot that was!!! Then Pat and Neil Coleman picked Troy and I
up at the hotel in their squad car and we got to go out to dinner (riding in
style). Troy and I enjoyed talking with Howard Morris at the motel and having
B'fast with him a couple of mornings. But sitting here, I'm thinking
everything we did was great, just to much to mention. Can't wait till next
year. Hope everyone that was there had as much fun as we did!!!
Allan, David and Phil what a great job ya, did. Jan and Patty ya did great
with the Soggy Bottom Boys!!!
God Bless, Always, Kathy & Troy Taylor

I am 46 yrs. old. My husband and I have been married 27 years and have 2

I was raised on TAGS and my husband is amazed how I can tell you what episode
is coming on in the first 5 min. of the show.

My children have enjoyed watching, but, I must say "at this point" I can
clear a room just as they hear the opening credits (whistle). I had a
parakeet who loved to hear the opening credits and would dance and tweet
everytime she heard it.

There is nothing more relaxing to me than to come home from a hard day at
work and watching TAGS. It takes me away from the everyday "stress" and if I
don't get to watch at least once a day, I am not as relaxed.

I luv it, I luv it, I luvvv it.

Regarding the post by Mark Selby that Griffith doesn't sound English, I
went to www.names.com/namefinder & this is what they had to say:

"Authentic information extracted from the Griffith Family Name History.

The Griffith history has been located in the archives of the Historical

Research Center and this renowned resource has authenticated the

following information:

Griffith is a surname which is found primarily in England. It should be

noted that Griffith family members have migrated through history
thereby carrying the name to many areas.

In studying our archives we found that one of the earliest references to
the family name Griffith dates back in history to the year 1391.

There is documentation related to many Griffith family members and
we mention here Johannem Griffith by way of example."

So I guess that the name is English. There is also Griffith from
Scotland, Wales and Barbados.
Sincerely, Marie
