Probably mentioned before, but when Barney is trying to re-enact the "Punch
in the Nose incident," he asks Goober "Where were you?" Goober replies "I
don't know. I was just five years old." If the incident happened 19 years
ago, that would make Goober 24 years of age in this episode. Anybody else
think Goober seemed older than 24?

Didn't the Taylor's celebrate the creation of Sheriff Without a Gun by taking
a trip to Hollywood? Remember, they got the check and wanted to celebrate.
The first suggestion was to have Helen over for dinner. Also, didn't they
celebrate Helen's book?

I think this episode is called "A Wife for Andy".
When Barney sends all those girls over to Andy's house, he is reading a
book to Opie.
The book is "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving.
I've been reading the book an I finally got to that part about, "It was the
very witching time of night that Ichabod, heavy-hearted
and crest-fallen, pursued his travel homeward,........"
This is the part where Andy keeps rereading and Opie keeps quoting.
Andy and Opie finally give up reading the book.
I also saw this episode the other day.

Was this episode shown around Halloween?

Margaret

I haven't read TAGS posts for a while so Andy
Griffith's dedication of US-52 may have been
discussed. I would like some TAGS members who are
planning to attend to email me, [EMAIL PROTECTED],
with meeting places, area of the dedication, etc.

Thanks

I always thought it might have stood for "Orville Paul" but I like yours
better. :)

Actually, Opie was a popular southern name for years. The short-lived, late
1940s half-hour version of radio's "Lum and Abner" had a regular bandleader
on the show whose name was Opie Cates...that was his real name, not a
character name.

Hi everyone,

I know the question was asked yesterday by another fine member of the
community, but I too would like to have the Andy Griffith Show theme for my
cell phone. If someone could send me info on how or where to get it.

Subject: Barns suprises

How about the time Barn was playing real estate agent and showed up
at Andys(unannounced) with a couple and wanted to show them the house.
Not sure of the eps. # . But the husband, who was house
hunting, was played by the actor who later was the minister on
       Little House on the Praire.
Watch the virus from Ernest T. I got the email but my
software took care of it. It is getting rough out there.
Lets all just move to Mayberry. All we have to worry about
there are the selfish giraffe herds...and bad haircuts.....
      Have a good day. Laverne

Subject: Barn surprising Ange
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

How about when Barn thought Ange was gonna' propose to that cute blond
nurse played by SueAnn Langdon? Also, he popped in unexpectedly when
Malcolm was serving that fancy supper; Ange and Ope were all dressed up
and he wasn't and he said he had to go home as he hadn't even decided
what to wear for the evening.

Don't hold the book on me, but I'm pretty sure I recall that Andy
(Griffith, not Taylor) was something of an admirer of a band leader by the
name of Opie Cates.
