BEING A TAGS JUNKIE PAYS OFF!!! I won a trivia contest on a local radio
station this morning for answering a TAGS trivia question. As soon as I heard
the announcer say "On the Andy Griffith Show," well, then I started
dialing.....What a surprise when the question turned out to be "What is
Barney Fife's middle name?" For us old-time trivia buffs that one wasn't too
tough.......Funny, the announcer was stunned when I went into this long
explanation about how he had three middle names etc....He was impressed...The
guy that tried before me answered "Rudolph."

Brad "Neil Bentley" Cunningham

"Mr. Campbell.....may I ask you a question?"

I noticed on the episode where Opie & Howie Pruitt
(who also played the Williams' boy in the Barney Fife,
Realtor episode) distributed the gossipy newspaper,
that Barney referred to his high school as Mayberry
Central High. I thought it was Mayberry Union High.
If there was a Mayberry Central, did that mean that
there was a Mayberry East & West campus, as well?
What a big, bustling city!

When Barney and Gomer went to the Salve company, did not Barney say his
name was "U.G. Pendyke, DVM, practice limited to small animals"? Any
connection there? Best of luck to you and yours.

Re:

 Hey Everybody,
I Am Trying To Find The Lyrics To A Song That I Have Heard On Several
Different Episodes. It Was Done By Andy On The Front Porch And By Charlene And
The Boys In A Different Episode. The Version Done By Charlene And The Boys Was
A Little Faster And The One I Like The Best.I Think The Song Is"There Is A
Time For Us To Wonder,Or Maybe,Wander?Help Me Out If You Can!!!!!Jump In
Where
Ya Can And Hang On!!!!

Found the lyrics of the tune by entering, "There is a time for us to wander"
in the Google search engine. There were several hits, but this 'un pretty
well summed it up:

http://www.musicpotential.com/SONGS/BLUEGRASS%20SONGS/Bluegrass%20Songs%20(T)

It has a lot of other Bluegrass tunes on it, but here's the words to the song
you were asking about.

 THERE IS A TIME R. Dillard/M. Jayne

THERE IS A TIME FOR LOVE AND LAUGHTER
THE DAYS WILL PASS LIKE SUMMER STORMS
THE WINTER WINDS WILL FOLLOW AFTER
BUT THERE IS LOVE AND LOVE IS WARM

THERE IS A TIME FOR US TO WANDER
WHEN TIME IS YOUNG AND SO ARE WE
THE WOODS ARE GREENER OVER YONDER
THE PATH IS NEW, THE WORLD IS FREE

THERE IS A TIME WHEN LEAVES ARE FALLING
THE WOODS ARE GRAY, THE PATHS ARE OLD
THE SNOW WILL COME WHEN GEESE ARE CALLIN'
WE'LL NEED A FIRE AGAINST THE COLD

SOMEWHERE YOU'RE ROAMING IN THE SPRINGTIME
AND YOU'LL FIND YOUR LOVE IN THE SUMMER SUN
THE FROST WILL COME AND BRING THE HARVEST
AND YOU CAN SLEEP WHEN DAY IS DONE

On a different note, just thought I'd let you all know of a funny thing that
started my day off right this morning. As I was coming home from taking my
kid to school, I had to go through the high school parking lot. I don't have
any idea why a class of teenagers was crossing the street, but there they
were....One guy was standing on the curb urging his classmates to come on by
waving his whole arm in a, "Y'all come on" fashion. I couldn't help but see
Gomer leaning out the window telling all his customers to follow him from Andy
driveway back to Wally's filling station. Made ME smile, anyway.

Have a good'n.

Regarding Goober's age as implied in "Punch in the Nose," I too thought it odd
that Goober would be only 24 years old. I thought Goober was at least in his
late 20s or about 30. Is Goober older than Gomer? In, I believe, "Man in a
Hurry" Andy says that Gomer is working at the filling station part time to earn
money to go to college and study to be a doctor. Also, when Gomer Joins the
Marines I assumed he was probably in his early 20s. According to the Internet
Movie Database George Lindsey was born December 17, 1935, which would have made
him 30 in 1965. Jim Nabors birthday is listed as June 12, 1930, which would
have made him 34 years old in 1964 when he joined the Marines.

Subject: "There Is A Time" Lyrics
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

There is a time for love and laughter
The days will pass like summer storms
The winter winds will follow after
But there is love and love is warm

(chorus)
There is a time for us to wander
When time is young and so are we
The woods are greener over yonder
The path is new, the world is free

There is a time when leaves are falling
The woods are gray, the paths are old
The snow will come when geese are calling
We need a fire against the cold

(repeat chorus)

So do your roaming in the spring time
And find your love in summer sun
The frost will come and bring the harvest
And you can sleep when day is done.

Time is like a river flowing
With no regrets as it moves on
Around each bend, the shining morning
And all the friends we thought were gone

(Repeat chorus)

I think Charlene only sings the first two verses on the show. Rodney Dillard
(along with Ricky Skaggs and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) sings this on the
new Nitty Gritty Dirt Band cd "Will The Circle Be Unbroken, Vol. III" and it
is the best recording of the song I've ever heard. It includes the four
verses as written here. I think Rodney sings the first 2 and fourth verses
and Ricky Skaggs sings the third and they are all in on the choruses.

HI GANG....
Noticed a lot want to know how to program their cell phones, and I would like
to know too. Thanks to the one who asked to have the instructions posted here
on the bulletin board. I noticed some wanting it to be sent to them directly,
but hey, its time for a town meeting and share these kinds of things with all
of us.

I posted a couple of times to this list and a few other boards in the early
spring this year that I was looking for any pieces to the Hawthorne Mayberry
Village. I don't have any pieces and am interested in any of them. If anyone has
any pieces at all for a reasonable price, I would still be very interested. I
ended up buying wooden buildings from Weavers in June as I had only one response
to all my posts, but I really would prefer to put together the porcelain
village.

Thank you,

I agree with my attorney, Neil Bentley. Goober is every bit of 30 yrs. old in
tags. Also Mr. Foley should retain Mr. Bentley as counsel. Floyd obviously
committed State code 18.2-57 (Misdomeanor assault) on Mr. Foley during that
episode!

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

1- Usin' one o' them connectin' cords, hook up yer cell phone to yer
computer.**
2- Get on the internet, and find the theme to TAGS.
3- Somehow, make it so's the music goes through the connectin' cord to yer
cell phone, and is captured there.
4- Somehow, make it so's the music is played every time the phone rings.

**- If you have that there wireless internet on your cell phone, go straight
to step 2. And skip step 3, too.

Hope that helps!

Greetings,
I heard from Cynthia from the Digest and she sent me a VERY DETAILED email on
what you need to do. First your cell phone must have recordable ringers and a
CD with the TAGS theme song and she was able to record to her phone. She also
said someone said there was a way to download it but that and I agree sounds
kind of iffy. Hopefully this answers the question.(Now quick everyone MUST
trade their cell phone for one with recordable ringers. Just being silly).
THANK YOU AGAIN Cynthia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody,

I have been a part of the TAGS Digest for about a month and have been sort of
wondering when I could contribute. I have the TAGS ringtone on my cell phone.
I got it at www.supermegaphone.com in the "Ringtone"/TV section. I think it
depends what kind of service provider you have for your cell phone. You the
TAGS ringtone and then it will ask for your, service provider and cell number.
And then amazingly it downloads directly to your phone! I always puts me in a
good mood to hear my phone ring. However, it says on the website that they
will not up for much longer. I hope this works for some of you. I also think
some service providers charge a small fee for downloading ringtones. Let me
know if it works.

ALso..."A wife for Andy was first aired April 15th, 1963. Not really near
Halloween. HAve a great day.
