someone posted the following: Has anyone ever counted all of the
bachelors on TAGS? There were several
that I can remember!

Andy, Barney, Gomer, Goober, The Darlins, Earnest T, Howard, Malcom
Merryweather...

I seem to recall was it, Rafe Hollister, who came to town, trying to
find a wife by picking up the women & seeing how heavy they were? he,
naturally, settled on Thelma Lou. Also Warren was single, too.

I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall in the episode where Goober buys
Wally's Filling Station, Opie reads to him out of a business magazine about
another business owner who was having trouble similar to Goober (though on a
much larger scale). My recollection was that when Opie pointed out that the
business owner was 35 years old, Goober said that was the same age, 35. I'm
not up on episode names and dates like some of my fellow Mayberrians on this
listserv, but I believe that one was at the beginning of the final season, so
would have been 1967, I think.

If I'm wrong, please disregard all of the above.

The episode your thinking of was "Goober the Executive".
It aired on Dec 25 1967 and Goober and the other guy were 36.
Luckily this was one of the episodes on the Columbia house TAGS tapes.

In recognition of Andy Griffith's upcoming visit to Mt. Airy on October 16, I
thought I would point out two other "Return to Mt. Airy" trips. In 1957 there
was 'Andy Griffith Day' to welcome Andy back to Mt. Airy. In the
spring/summer of 1966, Andy returned to move his parents to California. Just
think, the last TAGS episode completed up until that 1966 visit was 'A Singer
in Town' with Keevy Hazelton's rendition of the Bee Taylor-Clara Edwards
penned song "My Hometown." How appropriate for Andy's journey to Mt. Airy in
1966! Finally, I have one question to pose to ALL members of the WBMUTBB
Digest:On October 16, 2002, do you think Andy is going to have a bunch of
high school kids stand around him as he scrawls out autographs like he did in
1966?

With A Nokia phone you must send yourself a text message on your cell service
provider's web site. These are the keys for Andy's theme--
 d=4,o=6,b=180:8a5,b5,2d,a.,8g,f#,d,a.,8g,f#,d,b5,d,f#,8d,e,8a5,b5,2d,a.,8g,f
#,d,a.,8g,f#,d,e,8c#,d

Then you save this message on your phone in the option for a ring tone.
There should be more instructions on the internet at Nokia.com or any cell
phone service provider's web site.

Or use fatter wires.

Untitled StationeryHey, I just programmed my phone with the TAGS theme. It
worked!!!
I went to www.supermegaphone.com and went to ring tones. Then click on
Television and then go to TAGS. Click on "send" and put your number in and
select your cell service and the submit. After about 1 minute, a message
came and said it received the new ringtone. That is too cool. (My phone is
a Nokia 3360 my service is AT&T Wireless).
