Thank you for posting that Allan and a BIG thank you goes to the fine folks
of the "Hearty Eatin' Men and Beautiful Delicate Women" Chapter for coming
up with the great questions. I'll also tip my hat to WBMUTBB member Doug
"Rafe Hollister" Garretson for the creative way to set up the answers on
those webpages.

The "Hit One for the Old Goober" website now has some good 2002 Mayberry
Days photos posted (and classic captions to match). There is a link on the
same "Past Events" page as the trivia.

I'm looking forward to seeing friends again in Mount Airy this week at the
Parkway Dedication. Safe travels to all headed to Mayberry the next few
days.

<<I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but a group called Rascal Flatts
has a new CD coming out and one of the songs is titled "Mayberry". It's
being released on October 29. Might be worth a listen.>>

The word along Music Row (where TAGSRWC HQ is located) is that the "Mayberry"
song is slated to be a single that will be released in January.

In the episode "Opie's Job," Opie competes with another boy for a job at the
grocery store. The owner is Mr. Dokes. But isn't that business supposed to be
Foley's? In other episodes Foley's is primarily a butcher shop, but in "Opie's
Job" the store looks much larger and is primarily a grocery store. The sign on
the window still says "Grocery and Meats". Did Foley retire? I need a good
observer to clue me in. Thanks.

Yes, Floyd was a widower towards the end. He was married in the show about the
guy who Andy and Barney had to help with the birth of his son as he referred to
his (Floyd's) wife (Martha?) who had a big stick she used to prop open the
cellar door when bringing up preserves. He was widowed in the pen pal episode
("well, what's the problem with a widow and a widower getting together in
lessers").
So, at one time Floyd was indeed single but not always.
The butcher was as well in the episode about Bee's new freezer.
I'd bet Mr. Weaver was as well.

They've already gone through the b&w episodes this
time, and have started the colorized. Didn't they
just get done with the last run of colorized in the
middle of August? What a quick run for 159 episodes.
Guess it's time to do more chores around the house.
Please post on here once they start showing the
classics again. Hopefully it won't take until next
August.

Wow - I'm starting to notice TAGS stuff everywhere. While watching Bugs Bunny
with my daughter, I heard Bugs play (on the xylophone) the song that Rafe and
Barney sang in the Courthouse. The exact title escapes me, but it is
"(Something)...... all thee endearing young charms." You think Bugs heard
Rafe sing? Or Rafe heard Bugs play? Man, am I worried about myself!

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

There was an interesting article in the October 8 edition of 'The Baltimore
Sun' in the TODAY section. It's a piece entitled 'Almost Mayberry.' It's
about musician Doug Reeves and the release of his CD 'Searching the Map for
Mayberry.' This CD features the songs "Ernest T.,Don't Throw That Rock at
Me,""It's Sunday (Aunt Bee), Fry That Chicken," and "One Bullet Man", an ode
to Barney Fife. This article goes on to describe Mt. Airy and 'Mayberry
Days.' There is one slight inaccurate line in one of the songs, "Mayberry
Blues."

Things were going so good
Til her boyfriend walked in
I lost my Thelma Lou
I got the Mayberry blues

More than likely, he's referring to 'The Return of Barney Fife', where we
learn that Thelma Lou has married.

Hey to Allan and to whomever else is going to the dedication of Andy's
highway in Mt. Airy....be sure to give us all a full report, okay? Wish we
could be there, too! I wonder if Ange's section of the highway is too steep
for trucks ("if you give 'em 35, they'll do 40....").

Happy Motoring!

What a great idea!
I substituted a sharper "ring-ring," edited out the closing laughter, and
personalized the wav file with my greeting. It's now installed on my cell

The big guy who came into town and started picking up the ladies was none
other than Jeff "Skipper" Pruitt. After he became disgusted with his
prospects in Mayberry, he bought himself a charter boat and headed for the
high seas. Of course, as we all know, that didn't improve his luck too much.
