Howdy beloved
Ain't it the durndest thaing when ya learn that age is indeed startin' to
creep up on ya...well it hit me when we were watchin' the eppiesode of
"Citizens arryast" and my son (who's just a smidgen shy of 8) asked me "dad,
what is the Twlight zone?" (referring to Otis' mention of it when he wandered
in with a snoot-full). And I also have to mention my up and coming "trained
noticer" daughter who had to wonder "where did Barney get the cigarettes he
was smokin' in his cell?" Perhaps Ange kept a pack in his desk...wouldn't
seem proper for a prisoner to just up and wander out for a pack of smokes...I
mean it ain't like he's a goin' home to get in his crop or somethin like
that...well it's just a thought.
"You ain't gonna string me up for just a little drinkin are ya? THAT ain't
right..."

How about the ever popular Barney phrase-"Heartaches! Nothing but
Heartaches!"

Two of the most obvious are "Nip it in the bud" and "You beat
everything, you know that?"

Just proves one thing! You want a good suit, you've got to go to Mt. Pilot!

Subject: Catch Phrases
Date: Sat, 19 Oct 2002 21:25:26 -0400
The catch phrase that pops into my head at this time is the one that Ernest
T Bass says : It's Me, It's Me, It's Ernest T.
I don't really know if that is a catch phrase or not but, I think it could
be.
Also, I was riding down the road today and a motorcycle with a sidecar came
up beside me. It was all I could do not to bust out laughing, because all I
could see was Andy sitting there in Barney's after the guys had taken the
screws out of it and Barney took off without him. I started to roll down
the window and tell the lady in the one I saw that if she put some water in
hers, she could take a bath.
Thanks to all those that are sharing the stories of Andy returning to Mt.
Airy. I sure wish that I could have been there.
Mayberry says thanks and happy motoring.

Subject: Re: Thelma Lou
Does anybody where Thelma Lou worked? I seem to recall one episode where
Barney called her in to the courthouse for something unimportant. She
says she says something about leaving her office. Was she a secretary?
I know Juanita worked down at the Bluebird Cafi? Also, do you think
Thelma Lou knew about Juanita? IMHO Thelma Lou was far prettier than any
of the other ladies the men dated. FinAlly, an unrelated question. Why
did Elinor Donahue leave after Season 1?
