The fact that the scene gets volumes of laughs out of Otis' whining and
Barney's defensiveness over that tomato says everything about TAGS' type of
humor. I consider this one of the three funniest scenes on the show, ever.

It should be pointed out that the "spit take" was a favorite comic device of
Danny Thomas, the man who gave Mayberry its start.

Don't really know if this qualifies as a triple, but I
believe Andy, Barney, Gomer, and possibly Opie were
headed out of the courthouse. I vaguely remember the
line "What's up?", and each of them said "He didn't
say". It was at least 3 times. I remember that line
because they said "what's up" in the 70's-90's, but I
didn't realize they said it in the '60's. Anyone
refresh my memory?

Just wonderin while watching "The lucky letter" episode. A car runs
over Barney's foot and he tells Opie something to the effect " You better
leave, you're
crampin my language." Then again, maybe I wouldn't want to know

In the episode, "Man in the Middle", Andy was singing to Helen after they made
up from their argument. The song was "I wish I was a red rosy bush". I've
looked all over for the song on cd and tape and can't find it. Does anyone
know if there is an album of Mayberry songs to buy?
